On tap at Stag’s Head (8/25/12). Pours hazy gold with creamy white head. Aroma is primarily musty funk. Taste is more sweet than sour; bready with some citrus and Belgian spices. Not bad, but I wasn’t overly impressed.

Overall, a decent belgian although I didnt get a lot of Belgian Sugar, you definitely get a lot of white fruits. Jow (4092) - Orlando, Florida, USA - AUG 31, 2012
Tap at Stags Head ST night. Pours medium cloudy straw color. Nose of candy and orange and funk. tastes slightly funky, of light tropical fruits, musky, resin and alcohol. kinda odd but kinda good. shadey (2166) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 7, 2012
On tap at Tap & Mallet. Pour is a clear gold with a thinner head of white froth. The description is really accurate as this beer meld all the best traits of a Belgian gold without going overboard on any of them. I felt the alcohol more than I tasted it, which is rare among Belgian golds. Very nicely done. j12601 (13141) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAY 29, 2012
On tap for growler fills at Half Time. Pours a clean gold with a touch of haze and a medium to large white head. Musky, toast and wheat, big beautiful phenolics. Medium bodied, sweet and musky, soft caramel. Toast, musk, sweet gentle funk. Touch of sweetness, but nice full body. Warm musk, very nice.

This poured a hazy darker yellow color with a white head. Aroma was lots of yeasty notes, mild sour apples, and sopme spices too. Flvaor was just slightly slightly tart, but mainy candy sugar sweetness, and spices, light orange peel in there too. Decent belgian. rob6239 (677) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 8, 2012
Pours slightly hazy amber gold with just slight head. Some good unique aroma from the pour that dissipates afte sitting. I didn’t find it sour at all Ron (4186) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAR 25, 2012
I went down to the Southern Tier Brewery in Lakewood in Lakewood NY to try the ’Local Brew’ of Chautauqua only to find they were out. Then I see that JB had that for’ Locals only’ beer at the Tap & Mallet in Rochester! D’oh! Well, I choose BelJoe then cause it sounded like my designated driver’s name... Big Joe. Good thing he was driving cause after this strong ale, I was gone. Good thing I was at the head of the bathrrom line. One guy could not wait and used the front bushes. (it was raining, so it was ok) swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - MAR 19, 2012
draft at Blue Monk. Medium straw color, little cloudy. Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit, light clove, fruity yeast, bubblegum notes. Best Belgian style from Southern Tier. Nice
