This poured a mruky dark red color with a beige head. Aroam was lots of oak, vnailla, light bourbon, dried fruit and caramel malt. Flavor was fairly sweet, but not cloying, lots of oak and barrel notes blend well with the caramel sweetness of the barleywine. One of my favorite BA barleywines i;ve had. On tap at the Southern Tier Brewpub. Malty sweetness gives way to the vanilla flavors from the barrel aging. Hot finish gets a bit overwhelming, as does the sweetness, Pretty tasty, but the overpowering nature of it makes it more difficult to enjoy. nyindiansfan (463) - rochester, New York, USA - AUG 10, 2012
Growler. Pours a dark orange hardly and carb. Has small white head that doent last not much lacing. Smells tastes stroung bourbon too much I think aged be awesome beer. Has small hop hardly any. Vinillia caramel. Awesome base just width it had some time on it before it as released. Hot. rocbyter (2131) - Waterbury, Connecticut, USA - JUL 25, 2012
Smells like a chocolaty bourbon. Cloudy brown color with a small tan head. Sweet beginning with a alcohol bitter finish. rollingwood (91) - Maryland, USA - JUL 21, 2012
On tap at Cole’s. Orange/copper colored liquor with a malt-vanilla aroma. The small white head was surprisingly persistent. The mouth feel was full and warming, the 14% ABV well-disguised in the bourbon/vanilla/dried fruit flavor, sweet attack and complex finish. This is an absolutely wonderful Barleywine that I hope makes it into bottles.

Tap @ FWIBF. Pours a darker orange color with a small white head. Aroma is of grapefruit, pine, lots of vanilla, sweet malt, oak and bourbon. Flavor has a lot of vanilla and some hops still, some bitter grapefruit and pine, butterscotch, oak, bourbon, sweet and caramel malt. The body is medium with a dry mouth feel. Overall a tasty BA Barley Wine. Sammy (12346) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 17, 2012
Different than the oak aged bottles more commonly found. Bourbon aromas significant. Dark with little head though some lace. Smooth above average mouthfeel. Alcohol well hidden by big chocolate and spice. Sweeter side of everything which made it dangerously drinkable. tia (2228) - Sandston, Virginia, USA - JUL 2, 2012
Tap. Pretty dark brown with dissipating head. Smells like wet dog, some kind of gummy candy, and smoke. Very sweet. Cloyingly sweet and syrupy. burg326 (5488) - Florida, USA - JUN 30, 2012
On draft at the Brass Tap, poured a dark copper color, aromas of oak, vanilla, lit dark fruit and tons of bourbon. Flavors are all bourbon, as it warmed more of the oak, vanilla, and dark fruit comes out, but it is all bourbon most of the time. DocLock (10721) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 29, 2012
Draft at Craft. Pours deep blackish, thick, with minimal brown head and nose if oaky dark malt, vanilla, port, blackberry, hops. Tasted rich, thick, complex, with the dark malts mixing with the backup hops, up-front vanilla and wood, bourbon, port wine, blackberry, and a smooth finish. Really good.
