Draft at blue monk. Caramel colored pour, light head and carbonation. Gray aroma of sticky toffee, caramel, butterscotch, bourbon and wood. Boozy flavor, strong alcohol mouthfeel. Woody, bourbon, caramel and toffee are no as evident as expected the wood aging and bourbon are in the forefront flavor wise but took a backseat aroma wise. Enjoyable. daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JUN 15, 2012
Deep brown pour with a light brown head. Big bold bourbon on the nose, oak, vanilla and some prunes/raisins. Flavor is sweet and loaded with bourbon and oaky goodness. Really liked this. JPDurden24 (1675) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - JUN 15, 2012

Aroma of vanilla, oak and sweet mince meat. Pours red brown with a small filmy head. Taste is amazing and sweet. Many bourbon notes, especially the oak. Quite tasty. thouse (53) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 31, 2012
Wow! 14.1%. Rumor is a limited edition bottling is on the way. Pretty self explanatory. The Lakewood, New York based brewery took their barley wine and aged in bourbon.

On tap at barley's taproom in Asheville, nc. Bourbon dominates this beer, which might be a good thing--not much underneath.

Draft at Capone’s. Pours a dark caramel brown with a lasting head. Aroma is heavy toffee smells. Taste is very sweet and rich, with lots of vanilla and toffee flavor. Really thick flavor that lasts on the tongue. Slight oak flavor, but not overly so. dmac (6591) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - MAY 21, 2012
Draught at Capones on my Thursday lunch trip with Caruso. Poured a dark orange/brown body with a small light beige head. Aroma was great with notes of vanilla, bourbon, wet wood, citrus, toffee and molassess. Medium bodied with rather lively carbonation for a barrel aged beer, foamy mouthfeel and some lingering heat on your throat to showcase the 14.1%. Flavor is rather dry with candle wax vanilla, old dry citrus rind and some plywood. Sadly the flavor doesn’t hold up to the aroma. GRM (4242) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 16, 2012
