Clear red - brown beer. Very soft palate. Sweet creamy buttery toffee and caramel. Some tangy sweet fruit coming through before the end which is soft and creamy with a trace of more bittering toffee. Enjoyed this but really quite sweet. A dessert beer?
Bottle at Borefts 10am day after hotel tasting after a very bad drunk Borefts festival ... copper ... sweet rich barley wine nose ... rich vanilla ... soft toffeee ... nice hop background... soft. Leighton (21307) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2011
Bottle at a tasting, thanks to Paul. Pours hazy, purple-brown with a medium, off-white head. Ripe fruits and heavy malts on the nose, some Annie’s mac n’ cheese. Extremely sweet, lots of baked beans (which I love!) And toffee, some ripe fruits, mild booze. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Decent warm finish, some more baked beans, toffee, brown sugar, some vanilla. Tons of sugar. Good stuff.
