Sweet aroma with mainly dried dark fruits. Brown colour, beige head, good lace. Very sweet, nice bitterness, dried dark fruits, vanilla, licorice. Very sticky, flavourful, balanced and easy going.
Lovely sweet fruity nose and flavor. Think Jewbelation meets Three Philosophers. Very drinkable aperitif/dessert beer. scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 7, 2010
22oz - Deep brown, light tan creamy head. Oaked caramel-cream aromas warm to swirls of vanilla brown sugar and booze. Deep toffee and vanilla flavors round with light swirls of spiced dark fruit and and oak. Full bodied, soft carbonation, warming, light wood finish. This one has aged gracefully... halfonit (1366) - Fall River, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 16, 2010
Been holding onto this one for a while for a special occasion. So here goes.......pours a hazy deep amber/brown color. Aroma is full of oak, vanilla, figs, raisin, and a little chocolate. Flavor is of malts, oak, vanilla, molasses, licorice, and chocolate. Leaves a chocolaty oak finish. Bravo. hallinghansen (3193) - Odense SV, DENMARK - OCT 28, 2010

dont get this too cold. its very viscous, and i got it to about 40 degrees before pouring. i almost thought it was flat, the bubbles riaing very slowly in slow motion, making it look very cloudy. after it warmed up for about in hour, the next pour was a clear liquid with a nice, slow rising, heavily cascading head. very nice pour at the proper temp, and never seen anything quite like that. anyways, the aroma is very nice, super sweet tons of vanilla, bourbon, molasses, oak, another nice olfactory experience from STBC. the taste is not quite there, still nice, but a lil too sweet, and i like the brulee. over all a vvery nice hit, almost another home run for them! First beer (not homebrew) of 2011! Been holding this for a couple of years. Medium amber, surprisingly fizzy initial head, but fades quickly and completely. Aroma is richly malty and doughy yeast over caramel. Flavor is a perfect match. Not really anything else going on, but really good aged malt flavors. No oak noticed. Nice. Quite a bit of sweetness, compact flavor. Caramel malt, some hop favor. Has all the makings of a good beer but is a bit round. manuchampions (1244) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 23, 2011
