When words don’t say enough we sometimes let our fingers do the talking. Maybe it’s kid stuff, but the sign of the goat has been used by rock stars, sports fans, celebrities & unfortunate politicians to celebrate symbolically. Open this bottle for your turn to flash the eternal gesture of high voltage rock & roll. For those about to bock, we salute you!

Bomber from TheEpeeist after two years of waiting for them to produce their Matador (still listed with no ratings). Nose is banana, wheat bread yeast, with a hint of vanilla toffee and cloves. Murky amber with a medium, lightly lacing, beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter, sweet bananas, and very spicy and peppery. Nice weizenbock!

aracauna (3694) - Georgia, USA - AUG 13, 2017
Bread crusts and mild caramel and bananas. Slightly excessive bitterness in the finish, but a nice nuttiness.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Nice break from the hopped-up beers. Great aromas and flavors of candied sugar, caramel, roasted malts and molasses. Nice dark brown color with a good head. Medium smooth body.

(Rating #7015)

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear orange hued amber with a short lived white head. Aroma is banana, caramel, wheat. Flavor is sour, caramel, roast. Finish is oldish, sweet. Medium body, average carbonation.

My Bottom Line:

Dusty bananas and caramel fall into burnt bitterness, as harsh alcohol adds a layer of perplexity.

Further Personal Perceptions:

-A veil of foam covers the cloudy amber.

-Oxidation manages to mar the estery profile.

-This is a poor homage to the Dunkler Weizenbocks of Germany.

-My palate just doesn’t jive with this brewery’s sugary lineup.

Kauge (2127) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 23, 2016
Bottle from LCBO. Pours coppery with light beige head. Aroma’s pleasantly barleywiney, there’s dark fruits, toffee and caramel, jam, it’s a bit leathery and somewhat boozy, almost surprisingly so for the 7.5%. Tastes along the same lines, it’s pretty sweet with a shade of earthy bitterness in the finish. Carbonation very thin and mild, body lightish medium. All in all a very pleasant Weizen Bock with the Weizen somewhat hidden behind the rest.

Nice color, good aroma. Slightly sweet...I like the Goat Boy! Very little head that dissipates quickly...so no lacing. Low carbonation. A fine Weizen Bock in my opinion.

651 ml. bottle. Pours a thick, slowly collapsing ivory head, with layered lacing, over a clear, effervescent, dark amber (SRM 14) body......nose is wheat, toffee/caramel. light dried fruits including plum, raisin, no hops, mild banana/bubblegum, balance to the malts....taste is moderately sweet, with light brown sugar tones, toffee/caramel, mild wheat, light banana/bubblegum, vanilla, finishing with a moderate burnt caramel bitterness, with hints of hops......mouth feel, light of medium body, slight alcohol, moderate carbonation. This is a pleasant, easy drinking beer, but it is not nearly as complex, nor rich, as the best of the style. The malt backbone needs a bit of a re-work, and a yeast change would also be helpful. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

Tap at R+B. Unfiltered orange-brown body. Massive head. Doughy chocolate tones. Cherry brown, almost rye tones. Chewy malts, deep fruity tones. A little heavy handed, sugary.

czar (9503) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 20, 2016
pours unclear medium dark golden, orange-red tint, with a small off-white cap off-white cap offering some retention and lacing. sweet toasted fruitiness - oranges; peppery wheat, peppermint, red matter, hint of sweetness - berry jam; clean yeast. moderate carbonation, light to medium body - oily; sweet, woodsy and spicy finish. obviously past its prime, but a nice specialty malt feature weizenbock.
