(12oz bottle) Clear amber body topped by a small off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit/pine, some caramel, cookie, light floral/orange. Taste is medium sweet, orange, caramel, some grapefruit. Medium body, some stickiness, nicely drinkable. Not to be mistaken for a West Coast IPA, this is nevertheless a fine beer. milewide (2260) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - AUG 28, 2006
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2006 Liked it better on second try. A touch sweeter than other IPAs, but good balance between malt and hops. Lingering bitterness that I liked. JasonG (776) - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - AUG 28, 2006
Crystal clear, medium copper color with small off white head. Aroma is malty, slightly sweet, fair amount of caramel, vanilla, and kilned malts. Flavor is a bit malty with some caramel, almost iced-tea like, a touch of citrusy hops. Finish is relitively dry, balanced. PilsnerPeter (3046) - Flushing, New York, USA - AUG 19, 2006
Pours golden with white head. Lemony citrus scent. Candy like malt backed by a flowery/lemony hop. Aurelius (5369) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 17, 2006
Bad label, bad cap. Brownish amber, thin lacy head. An interesting aroma - at first very loud hops, then settling out to a pleasant caramel. Herbal tones, medium-light sweetness, med heavy bittering, caramel, a bit of roastiness. Medium body. A grassy, malty finish. Pretty good. Definite NY craftbrew specimen.

A nice example of an IPA that just doesn’t see the light of day on the West Coast. Aroma is very malt forward with a nice citrus aroma with floral bits hiding around. Appearance a nice bright amber color. Flavors are very nicely balanced, with the hops being grapefruity and grassy (perhaps Amarillo and Saaz?) and lightly floral. Nice beer! Pours a brown amber with creamy off white head. Sweet rich spicy aroma opens your sences. Sour dry tastes finishes rich and deep sweet malt flavor. sirsirus (60) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 13, 2006
A surprising winner. Initially very similar to Harpoon IPA however this has a nice touch added onto the finish. It has some lastingness as well on the finish. WhiteSoxFan (152) - USA - AUG 10, 2006
12 oz. bottle from Shoreline. Drank on 7/27/06. Clear, copper in color. Small 1 cm. off-white / yellowish head. Drops quickly. Some foam hangs around, good lacing. Aroma - big, sweet and fruity aroma. Some sweet malt, but mostly big, fruity hops. Flavor - High bitterness up front. Fairly well balanced on the tongue with some underlying malty sweetness, and a big malt backbone. Some different, hard to describe hop flavors after the swallow and in the finish - a little citrus, lots of fruitiness, almost some candy-like sweetness. Palate - Solid medium, big malt backbone. Good amt. of carb. Overall - A good beer, but pretty sweet and fruity. Don’t know if I could drink more than one at a time. Enjoyable, but just a little off of the hop flavors that make up my favorite IPA’s. I like the solid malt backbone. xproudfoot (750) - Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 9, 2006
Bot. Good orange citrus sweet aroma. Pretty, clea amber beer with tight offwhite head. Unsweetened bitter grapefruit flavor. Palate has a tinge of the metallic, good puckery bitter finish.
