This IPA is very, very good--and I can’t wait to get my hands on more. The pour is a light golden color with an off-white head. The smell is terrific--plenty of citrus and pine hops. You can tell from the first whiff that this is going to be en enjoyable brew. The taste is a great balance of hops and malt. The level of bitterness is almost perfect--and is kept in check by the great caramel malt backbone. linc33 (184) - Albany, New York, USA - JUL 26, 2006
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2006 On tap at Olde Dublin Inn, Clifton Park NY. Good IPA colouring but a shade more amber than copper. A good representation of IPA, but with an over-bitter finish. Proud to call it a NY State beer. sliffy (2040) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 22, 2006
Bottle: Copper color, with a medium white head. Aroma of citrus and some spicy hops. Flavor caramel, with a citrusy bitterness coming through a moment later. A little resinous. Some mild lingering bitterness. 1FastSTi (3360) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 21, 2006
Bottle via my secret santa Summer 2006. The beer pours to a clean copper orange body with a thick fluffy head that is fully lasting with a gorgeous lacing. The aroma is caramelly grapefruit with a little vanilla. The flavor is more malty than hoppy and bitter. Sprucey... very sprucey. Buttery caramel. The palate is very clean. Perhaps too much so. I would expect some lingering bitterness or oilyness but there is none. The flavor leaves quickly. I was kind of let down with this one. fbennett (293) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 12, 2006
This beer pours a maroon color with orange highlights that has a clear body and leaves a thick tan head that leaves this beer quickly. The aroma is very faint, some caramel sweetness, and a weak presence of hops aroma. The taste more than makes up for the smell the taste is fantastic, starts bitter with a blast of grapefruit quickly followed by a smooth balancing of caramel and a nice crisp tartness to round out the flavors. The finish is soft and sweet but leaves you with a memorable bitterness bite.

This is one tasty IPA! Big floral hop-nose, beautiful reddish haze color and nice malt balance makes this beer a truely enjoyable one. Leaves a nice aftertaste as well. Drink it, don’t read this. maniac (3800) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 28, 2006
Clear dark amber color with a small off-white head. Sweet citrus and floral hops aroma. Sweet floral hops flavor with some caramel in the background. Numenor (871) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUN 28, 2006
Nice ruby-mahogonoy body with a light ivroy head. Nice aroma, but very delicate, hops are present but malts dominate leading to a sweet smell. Definatly a malted IPA, as they are the most present component of the taste. Nice bitter, smooth ending. Miksu (5052) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - JUN 20, 2006
Bottle. Copper-amber color. Floral, citrusy and raisin-like hop aroma. Rounded bittersweet flavor with floral and citrusy hops. Bittersweet finish. An oxidised bottle. Dough77 (822) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUN 17, 2006
Pretty standard, yet slightly above par IPA. Nice hop notes, mixed well with a nice maltiness and little else to really seperate it from the rest.
