COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

Bottle. Orange, iced tea colored. Light citrus aroma with pine and bready malt. Basically just ok all around. Not bad, not great. Bitter at first but, then bland and boring. Balanced but, not much going on anyway. --- Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pitch perfect IPA, strikes the right balance between west coast hop bombs and more malty east cost offerings. Core IPA from an outstanding brewery.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2014 BOTTLE 355 ML from CH-303. Look: hazy orange, off-white frothy head. Aroma: sweet fruit, zesty, lemony, gooseberry, fruit marmalade, light resins. Taste: quince marmalade, light to moderate bitterness with light tannic notes, light phenolic.

Bule (2137) - California, USA - NOV 2, 2014
12oz bottle pours a slightly hazy yellow amber color with a bit of head. Burst of hop bitterness that dissipates quickly to leave an easygoing mild bitterness at the end.

Overall a good IPA. A bit too much malt and less hops aroma and flavor for my taste. More bitter hops and less exotic citrus hops. I definitely prefer the Headstock IPA by Nickelbrook. This one has an bit higher alcohol finish and less the hops or malt flavor.
