St. Nicholas, aka Santa Claus, is a magical figure, the bringer of gifts and an icon of holiday spirit. Forgotten by most is his evil side kick and enforcer of ‘the list’. European tradition says while St. Nick is busy delivering presents to good little boys and girls, Krampus hands out punishments to the bad. A fanged, goat-horned bully, the Christmas Devil uses sticks and chains to beat the naughty children. Dark malts and aromatic hops create the diabolical spirit of this brew. It is finished with lager yeast and aged cold for no less than 30 days. This Imperial Helles Lager will warm even the darkest hearts. This season, replace the cookies with a bottle of Krampus. If he happens to pay a visit, toast to him with this devilish brew. Merry Kramp-mas to all, and to all a good pint!

Translucent orange yellow. Minimal head. Malt, citrus, banana, and hop aroma. Mid bodied and relatively creamy. Malt lager backbone is definitely present, but potent citrus, hops, and a wee bit of supplemental tartness are the most vigorous flavours. Good.

Pour is copper and has a light head. Aroma is pine and flavor is lightly lemony. Smooth.

Bomber to stem. Copper with small white head. A: citrus peel, spice, yeast, bread. T: bitter floral hops, spice, citrus peel. Eh.

On tap at World of beer. Not a lot of hops on the nose. Mild citrus taste, however very well balanced for the amount of alcohol. This is a very clean tasting beer.

Tap. Transparent golden with thin layer of creamy off white head. Aroma and taste of citrus and hops.

Joel (114) - Massachusetts, USA - JAN 12, 2015
Pours clear and golden. Lots of hops in the nose. Mild sweetness and strong hop flavor. Warming and boozy. Very Good.

Bottle to glass. Pale yellow orange, medium head. Pine aroma, some barley and hops. A bit . Taste is not great. Just a raw strong, in your face beer.

Tejas (1006) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 6, 2015
This isn't a total drainpour but I did dump it. A bopper of this is too much. It's just unnecessarily big and far far too sweet.

TheBear11D (365) - Michigan, USA - JAN 4, 2015
22oz bottle poured into snifter The Krampus pours a mostly clear bronze with a decent beige head that doesn’t last too long. The aroma pine and floral hops with a bit of caramel and bread. The flavor is mostly pine and floral hops with a touch of honey. Overall this is a pretty nice and unique beer.

lownote (585) - Austin, Alabama, USA - JAN 2, 2015
Pours a pretty light color with a light soapy head. With less head than expected. Aroma is not super strong but piney. Taste is really resiny hops... piney. Not sweet. Finish is a bit soapy. Unsubtle. Carbonation is moderate and medium thickness. Eh.
