COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. Nicholas, aka Santa Claus, is a magical figure, the bringer of gifts and an icon of holiday spirit. Forgotten by most is his evil side kick and enforcer of the list. European tradition says while St. Nick is busy delivering presents to good little boys and girls, Krampus hands out punishments to the bad. A fanged, goat-horned bully, the Christmas Devil uses sticks and chains to beat the naughty children. Dark malts and aromatic hops create the diabolical spirit of this brew. It is finished with lager yeast and aged cold for no less than 30 days. This Imperial Helles Lager will warm even the darkest hearts. This season, replace the cookies with a bottle of Krampus. If he happens to pay a visit, toast to him with this devilish brew. Merry Kramp-mas to all, and to all a good pint!

Bottle. Amber color. Nice white head. Sort of light in aroma with a hint of malt. Kind of smells and tastes malty and grainy. Hops not overwhelming but nice nuance. Very good beer overall.

Clear, golden color . Nice , white head. Grass , citrus and malt in aroma. Sweet, malty backbone and strong hoppy bitterness on the outside. Great balance. One of the best strong lagers I've ever tried. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber. Clear gold with a thick, foamy off white head that lasts and laces. Aromas of bread, sweet toasted malt, spice, pine ,and light lemon. Flavor is the same. Medium bodied, smooth with a dry end.

Pours a clear golden yellow with a foamy white head. Semi sweet grainy and bready aroma. Light to medium body with some lacing. Fairly smooth with a somewhat sweet grainy bready taste and a light warm alcohol feel. Not harsh or bitter. Smooth finish with a light lingering aftertaste. Not great but actually better than I expected.

This thing is delicious! Grass and wheat notes, some malty brown sugar and caramel, a teeny, tiny bit of bitterness from hops, I think too.

tastes of boozy syrup hop water. Not much going on here just high alcohol hop tea with some grain field runoff water mixed in. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

DATE: December 2, 2016... OCCASION: having returned from Lenape Valleys title game (loss), time for a consolation glass... GLASSWARE: Schneiders Edel-Weise pokal... pours a transparent golden amber body that releases reasonable bubbles into a clumping, thick, sudsy white head... the two hops work overtime with a tail-whipping strength of resin and citrus... slight caramel embeds in the bread malts... again, those hops! a clean ping resonates with the helles profile... a dry chardonnay body blends with a cider-like sweetness to leave a draw that belies its potency... toasted malts mix with fruity dryness--apple, lemon, fig, and astringent alcohol (slightly reminiscent of cheaper vodka?)... this is powerful--one bottle is enough to both entice another and evoke the buzz of something with proof on its bottle... some heat is produced, and that is a good thing--the imperial nature of the beer demands the drinker asks forgiveness for his year of sinfulness and enjoy the punishment... sweet honey, brisk malts and fruitiness make for a fearful, rewarding experience... Southern Tier, thank you for a lager that celebrates the winter season with its power and glory....
