When empirical and creative impulses collide, the result is often timeless. The classic utility-art aesthetic of the coffee maker is an example of design and engineering working in concert. It is through similar cooperation that the simple bitter cocoa bean is transformed into a sweet treat. As scientists, our brewers utilize their materials to exacting standards. As artists, they couldn’t resist the temptation to combine the best flavors of two of our highly acclaimed Blackwater Series Imperial Stouts, Jahva and Choklat. Alone each is perfect, but together as Mokah, they are an inimitable expression of two of the world’s most sought after flavors. Enjoy Mokah stout with - or as - your favorite dessert! Cheers!

Draft courtesy of Underground Bluz. Aroma was primarily of light coffee but also with dark fruits, some chocolate and alcohol. Pours black with mahogany highlights. A 2-finger creamy tan head coats the top. Lacing is thin and gets thinner as the beer sits. The taste is rich and dark-chocolate sweet. The sweetness is not that cloying kind of sweetness like sugar or honey. Bitterness is of the coffee variety and stays toward the front of the mouth rather than digging into the back. It’s not a hoppy kind of bitterness. Medium creamy mouthfeel. The beer stays consistent as it warms. The alcohol is more noticeable in the nose than on the palate. I am normally quite attuned to too much alcohol burn in the beer. Primarily this is why I don’t enjoy some imperial styles. But I did not find the same kind of burn in this beer. Very good.

Bottle from Bierzwerg!
Pours deep black with a massive brown head. Aroma is full of coffee, vanilla and some licorice. Awesome vanilla taste with coffee and lots of sweet chocolate. Sweet vanilla notes in the finish. Totally my kind of taste, yeah!

Draft Half Pint at White Horse, Parsons Green, London in Aug 2010 - Very Dark Brown in colour. Strong chocolate and coffee aroma. Very Malty; roasty malts, mega-chocolate, mega-coffee, vanilla. Sweet Malty with incredible exotic chocolate, coffee and vanilla flavours. Tastes of Belgian dark chocolate liqueurs. An excellent dessert stout. Lovely. WOW! Unique! Terrific Beer! (2010-08)

A dessert beer. Smells just like hot milk chocolate. Front taste is sweet, very sweet. Finishes with coffee and bitterness. Sticks to the palate. Recommend with biscuits. Drinkability is on the lower side, due more to the sweetness more than the 10.9 abv

Refrigerated brown bomber into a glass. Black with small beige head, medium/thick body, lower carbonation, and medium lacing. Taste is chocolate, coffee, and dark roasted malt.

Another great blackwater series beer. Pours a beautiful deep black with a tan head. Smells like the other blackwater beers. Coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is very sweet, with cream, chocolate, coffee and vanilla, followed by a bit of brown sugar. Had on tap at Green Dragon.

AleRider78 (1046) - Winchester, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 29, 2016
Pours a pretty thick brownish bubbly head and has an extremely dark brown appearance. Dirty lacing splatter display. Aromas are very much mocha, with a bit of chocolate and roasted malts. Hint of molasses as well. Carbonation is above average, with medium retention. Flavours of mocha, chocolate and coffee are fairly strong right away. Alcohol taste comes through a bit. Creamy mouthfeel, almost silky. Strong bitter chocolate aftertaste. This ones at 11.2% abv. Really good stuff.

LearninBeer (578) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - JUN 10, 2016
The aroma is a rich coffee and a rich chocolate. Pours black with light brown head fully diminishing and a little lacing. The taste is bitter, yet a little sweet. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish long. A VERY GOOD BEER!!!

FriendOfBeer (101) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 6, 2016
