3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Picked this up based on the interesting title and the fact that ST usually makes good brews, if not always outstanding ones. Has a nice head with even better lacing. Reddish copper color. Aroma is spicy hops with caramel malts. Tastes very much like a common IPA at first, but the ending flavors are much different. I cannot quite put my finger on the flavor profile, but this must be what distinguished this style from other ales. Refreshingly unique.
Backlog, Bottle, pours a reddish brown, somewhat clear. Tony white head and minimal lacing. Notes of bread, pine, citrus fruit, spruce tip and various spice. Medium bodied with lighter carbonation. Decent beer from ST rustbucket0873 (460) - Greenville, South Carolina, USA - MAR 5, 2017
pours dark reddish brown with white head. the aroma is citrus, spices, some alcohol. The flavor is malty, with roastyness, small hints of some seasonal spices with earthiness and slight citrus finishes sweet and caramel. the body is light with bitterness throughout. Overall very pleasant to drink nice to have on a cold day. brigg (700) - New York, USA - DEC 29, 2016

Drank from a pint glass, poured from a large bottle. Pours a nice dark coppery color with nice fluffy head. Great aromas from the malt bill on this guy, not overpowering on the spice aroma. This beer is nice and smooth, but has a nice complex kick to it! Cheers! beerplace (1801) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 22, 2016
355ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Aroma is malty, dark fruits. Taste is not very pleasant: caramel malt and some hoppy bitterness. Roasted malt afteraste. Probably spoiled. Cajun (539) - Lafayette, Louisiana, USA - MAR 27, 2016
12oz bottle - Poured a medium brown with a white head...thinned quickly. I got a whiff of caramel, toasted nuts, and something earthy. First sip was a mixture of skunky water and malt. But it got better with detection of some spice and biscuit with a dark malt...then a bitter herb finish. Msgriffi (48) - - FEB 21, 2016
Some roasted malt and a touch of dark chocolate fades to a slight Carmel sweetness, then a hop backbone comes in. A more crisp winter ale and some decent hop flavor without huge IBUs. Dry finish, and hops linger - slight citrus and bitterness. Very nice change from honey and spice that you usually fine in this season. Low carbonation for this medium body, almost chewy brew.

Musty oak, burnt caramel, spicy. Malty beer with mild hop presence. Dark caramel color with a thin head. Nice weight and heft. Good winter brew. Complex.
