Pour is cloudy orangey yellow with a huge big bubble fast fading off white head...smell is grapefruit and soap...taste is quite malty up front and a little surprising for this style...sweet citrus and a touch bitter in the finish...quite nice! Ron (3921) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUN 6, 2005
Hazy golden color with a average white head. Hops and citrus aroma. Malt and hops palate. Hops and bitter at the finish, Thanks JB for trading this one with me oh6gdx (26482) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUN 5, 2005
Bottled. Copper coloured, not much head to talk about. Orange and hops in both aroma and flavour. More on the watery side. Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - JUN 2, 2005
Pours copper with a thin head. Smells of straw and pepper. Tastes of grapefruit and lemons. A bit on the watery side. Nate (4279) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 23, 2005
Mild fruity aroma. Cherrywood and apple skins. Good hoppy character but smooth and mellow. Also some light buttery notes. Brilliant amber clear with thin head that dissipates quickly. Light medium body with medium soft carbonation. Has a medium sweet taste. Hoppy oils and mildly overbearing sugary quality. Nice hops throughout, just a bit dull. Finish is mild cherry skin bitter with touch of neutral fruits. After is a dry bitter.

Love the nice full hops bouquet and citrus (lemon maybe) aroma. Dark yellow - orange. White head. Some malt in the palate and some hops in the finish. Starts good finishes drably. footbalm (1219) - Western Minneapolis Suburbs, Minnesota, USA - MAY 19, 2005
Clear and the color of honey. The mild aroma of hops mixes well with an even
milder aroma of malts. The hops are pretty soft spoken but very nice as they are not overwhelming. This would be a good beer to have around.Funny how raters see things differently. cherr (162) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAY 17, 2005
This is a great pale ale. I had it on tap in my kegerator for 2 months. It pours a nice yellow-corn color. The head is nice and stable. The smell is of wonderful floral hops. The taste is balanced, but heavy on the floral/citrus hop side. Excellent session beer. Eyedrinkale (3214) - Astoria, New York, USA - MAY 16, 2005
I’m liking Southern Tier more and more with each new beer I try. This stuff poured gold from the 12 oz bottle with a thick head and lot’s of lacing. Aroma is hoppy pine and sweet malt. Tastee is very well balanced, nice and hoppy. A really good beer. CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - MAY 12, 2005
Pours a clear bronze with a thin, but nicely-lacing white head. Aroma has a nice hoppy presence and a touch of sweet caramel malt. Body starts semi-sweet with some nice fresh hoppy assertiveness, but fades toward dullness in the finish. A crisp, drinkable beer, but sort of a let down after the aroma and first sip. Thanks to slob for the bottle.
