COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Plums are a diverse group of species, with somewhere between 19 & 40 varieties depending upon whom you ask. We’re using what we consider to be the best to brew with. the Italian plum has beautiful dark skin & the flesh is perfect for fermentation. Plum Noir’s mild sweetness is derived no necessarily from the many malts we use. A bit of plum flavor is present as well as earthy, toasted grains, & hints of caramel with mild coffee overtones.

Very dark brown, nearly black, with a light beige colored head. Aroma of vanilla, roast, and light plum. The taste is roasted malt with very light sweet and bitter flavors. Medium bodied and sharper and fizzier than expected. Good porter, though quite one-dimensional, and the plum part is extremely muted.

On tap at Joe Canals West Deptford.
Appearance: Black with a creamy tan head.
Aroma: Roasted notes with chocolate and plum flavors are balanced beautifully.
Taste: Moderately dark chocolate and burnt malt notes blend with hints of plum. Very tasty.
Palate: Medium to thick with soft carbonation.
Overall: Very solid take on the style, I wish this had a bit more fruit presence though.

Bottle at Max’s. Pours a dark body with thin lacing. Aroma is magic marker, roast and pine needles. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of spice, alcohol, and sweet roast. The flavors are very muddled resulting in an unbalanced end result.

Draft. Aroma of smokey malts, coffee, slight plum. Dark, black body with thin lasting head. Flavor begins sweet with caramel malts and hints of plum followed by a strong smokey, coffee flavor. Sweet plum and bitter coffee aftertaste.

This is primarily a nice chocolatey sweet porter. I’m really looking for the plums. I’m just not really getting any. Maybe a vague fruitiness in the aroma.

Average trash head on cloudy brown body. Nice chocolate ash taste that while the plum notes don’t come through i believe it sweetness rounds out this port.

Pours much like dark pepsi with a frothy creamy head. Big aromas of roasted malt, light smoke, zesty hops, coffee, and caramel. Flavors of big roasty malts, caramel, plumbs are almost hidden behind the big roastyness, coffee, and zesty hops. Lightly silky. Light to medium bitter smoke/bitter aftertaste, light to medium sweet.

The aroma is very toasted and has chocolate, coffee, and burnt molasses but no plum. The appearance is red brown with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma and bitter and a touch fruity but not plumy. The palate is average. Overall it’s an average I/porter but I don’t get the plum.
