3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled on July 18, 2012.
Appearance: The appearance is a bit disappointing here due to the lack of head, just a very thin off-white head with very poor retention. The body is a very hazy pumpkin color, almost opaque.
Aroma: The aroma is spot on for a desert, cinnamon graham cracker crust comes to mind with some vanilla, not much pumpkin but boy this smells excellent and a huge step away from the rest of pack.
Taste: The intro is a bit mild, hinting at spices while the mid-taste hits hard with the graham cracker crust and some light ginger and nutmeg, pumpkin is noted throughout. This is just a wonderful desert beer.
Palate Medium bodied, oily, with some light prickly carbonation.
Overall: This is the king of pumpkin beers, I don’t think there’s anything better in the world than this for what it’s going for. I recommend this as a replacement for pumpkin pie during desert.
On tap, ADT. Not a huge fan of pumpkin beers in general, but this is top notch stuff. Hazy golden orange pour with a white head, complex and layered aromas and flavors of pumpkin spice, sweet malt, crisp hops, caramel, vanilla, nuts, oak. Full bodied, spiced finish. Pretty much delicious. 'Tis the season... ABUSEDGOAT (2790) - California, USA - SEP 18, 2017
Copper colored with a white head. Aroma is pumpkin, cinnamon, spice, caramel, pie. Medium to full bodied, big pumpkin pie flavors, very drinkable, alcohol hidden well. It's not exactly complex but very drinkable for what it is. Chalumeaux (1619) - Middleton, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 15, 2017
Poured from bottle clear copper with a thin white head. Aromas of pumpkin pie spices and hops. Taste is malt spices and lingering hop bitterness. Interesting. barrelagedluv (37) - Pittsburg, California, USA - SEP 10, 2017
A light hazy copper hued Ale pours into British imperial pint glass with surprisingly no foam and sparse fizz. Nutmeg and spice aroma is a but thin. The flavor leaps out of the glass pumpkin beer fans... graham cracker pie crust alamode oozes decadence. The palate is a smooth boozy yet drinkable. Simply brilliant. Cheers Alameda brewing! ebone1988 (2017) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - AUG 29, 2017
Bottle from Merchants. For the book. Aroma is pine crust, pumpkin, nutmeg, ginger, maybe apple, smells like fall. Appearance is amber, light tan and fading head, mostly clear. Taste is pumpkin pie, crust, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, some earthy hop bitterness, good. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, spicy pumpkin pie and hop aftertaste. Overall, it’s good for a pumpkin beer, but not exactly something I would say I enjoyed.

Absolutely the best pumpkin ale I’ve ever had! What a great surprise and treat it was to enjoy this seasonal ale by Southern Tier Brewing Co. I’d drink this beer year round! There is no one taste or smell that overpowered another. Just a perfect balance of ale, pumpkin and spice. Add to that a nice color, sparkle (bubbles) and a healthy head with some lacing and you have a near perfect beer. And it’s a pumpkin beer too... World class job Southern Tier Brewers! You nailed this recipe! thedm (6279) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUL 11, 2017
This bottled brew from a bottle shop was served at a cool temperature and poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a typically carbonated body dark orange colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was pumpkin. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong fruity aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of pumpkin mild dough and mild hops. A wonderful best in class brew. I was delaying rating this bottle, so it sat in my beer fridge for a while. My bad! This is an excellent pumpkin beer and is quite quaffable. (Bottle) Hazy amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, spicy nose with pumpkin, caramel, ginger, clove, cinnamon, clove, vanilla, chocolate and gingerbread cake. Malty, vegetal, spicy taste with notes of pumpkin, chocolate, dried ginger, orange peel, clove, coconut, ginger biscuits and a balanced spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a balanced sweetness. Tasty, but a but too spicy and sticky to be in perfect balance. Still, nice one. k0mpsa (3028) - Tuusula, FINLAND - MAR 10, 2017
