Where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean is the ancient city of Tangier. This confluence has made Tangier a cultural waypoint for millenia. From Greek heroes to Cold War spies and uprisings, Tangier has inspired thousands of legendary stories. It is written that before his battle with the giant Antaeus, Hercules rested in a nearby cave. But where myths end, our tale begins. Tangier is brewed as a Session India Pale Ale with spicy citrus aromas and stone fruit flavors. These flavors, with the addition of lightly roasted malts and brilliant hop bitterness, make Tangier a beverage as refreshing as it is exotic. The approachable 4.6% abv yields more time to enjoy the synergy between the tangerine peel and spicy, citrusy, Azacca hops. Enjoy Tangier in celebration of your epic adventure.

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2017 Draft at Macs Tavern. Clear fizzy orange gold pour with a slim white head. Dark citrus hops and medium toasted malts. Satsumas. Violets. Cardamom. Cloves. Leather. Rosehips. Wildflower honey. Bittersweet pithy chalk finish.

Thin white head of varying sized bubbles. Nice citrusy aroma with some lemon, pineapple, soft bready malts and dandelion greens. Color is a rather light gold. Flavor has lots of herbal flavors along with some strong and harsh citrus bitterness. Grapefruit pith, lemon rind, cereal grains. Minimal malt backbone to offset the strong bitterness. Finishes lingering dry and pasty bitterness. Expected better.

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2017 Original rating was done to test the new app. Here’s the real thing. Bottle, Harris Teeter @ Barracks Road. Pours slightly hazy golden with a pop white head. Aroma is biscuit, citrus (without being specific). Flavor is quite plain... biscuit, citrus with a lean towards tangerine at the end. I expect way more out of Southern Tier.

Clear golden and white head. A really clean hop dominant IPA with a true sessionable quality. Hop, malt, grapefruit, tangerine and spice. The malts linger just right and the juicy fruit and resin are tasty. Reminds me of Japanese beers with the super clean and nice finish.

Better than I expected, especially for an IPA. Light with a slight fruit taste, but it was pretty good

0.355l bottle @ Hotel Room. This is a cloudy looking one, ehm, yellowish orange in the glass and a small slowly fading white lacing head on the top. Smells really good. It has lots of zesty citrus. Oranges and grass. Lots of hops here also. Nice. Its definitely a little thin in the mouth, not directly watery but not too far off either. About average on the carbonation. Tastes good and lightly refreshing. Oranges and zest. Citrus sharpness and a little bit of stone fruits. Easy to drink and easy to like. 21.06.2015
