3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Riversbend: Poured golden in color with a nice solid white head. Smell is sweet, a little bit of lemon and a slight hint of rye. The taste is pretty similar, with a bit of rye, a touch of wheat, and a hint of lemon on the back. I also noticed just a bit of pine hoppiness come along after while. I can tell you this, it’s like 100 degrees here right now and this one works well to help cool me down. Not overpowering, easy to drink.
Opaque dark yellow body. Very malty nose, cookie dough, flour. Very full bodied, barley wine-like profile. Nice balance between mild hops and malts. Good drinkability generallee08 (772) - New York, USA - JUN 13, 2014
It has a clear, bright golden yellow colored body with some visible streams of carbonation and a creamy white head. The head is average in size and has good retention. It also makes nice lacing on the glass. The aroma has a strong hop profile that brings nice citrusy grapefruit notes over a sweet wheat and lightly toasted grain. It has nice citrusy hops with mild bitterness and light spice that mix with sweet lightly toasted gain and wheat flavors. A sweet grainy and very mellow alcohol gives some warmth and sophistication. It finishes clean with a slight hop presence. The palate has a very smooth texture with soft yet active carbonation with in a medium to full body.

7/4/2010. From bottle. Hazy yellow-orange color with a white head. Wheat aromas with light spice, fruit and citrus. Light hoppy flavors with fruit and spices showing. Good on a hot day. hotstuff (5160) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 10, 2013
Rated on 8-16-2009 (Bottle) This beer forms a large frothy, very fizzy white head with a short retention, transparent yellow body, visible carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The Aroma is malty, wheat, floral, citrus hops, sweet, fruity, and lightly spicy. The Taste is sweet, alcohol, malty, wheat, lightly spicy, bitter, fruity, and hoppy. The Palate is tingly and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, a bit of a different take for this beer style and worth trying. Chaneybr (52) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 20, 2013

This beer is now retired and that is a real shame. I found a few bottles in a liquor store in Maryland - I don’t even think they knew what great stuff they had.
Ap: Very cloudy, light orange, with a slight head, and a generous amount of carbonation.
Ar: Hoppy, tangy, citrusy, but still identifiable as a wheat based beer.
T: Bitter like an IPA, but it doesn’t have the same grapefruit sizzle. I love the orange finish on this one! It gets even better after every sip.
P: Very comfortable drinker with soothing carbonation and mild alcohol presence.
O: One of the best summer beers NOT available anymore. This is a beer geek’s "lawnmower" beer.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but probably over 3 years old. Pours hazy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Slight spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of honey, wheat, bread, light caramel, grapefruit, orange, floral, grass, pepper, clove, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt and hop notes; with solid strength. Some light oxidation is present, but not bad. Taste of honey, wheat, bread, light caramel, floral, orange, grapefruit, grass, pepper, clove, and earthy yeast spiciness. Good amount of earthy pepper spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of honey, wheat, bread, citrus, floral, grass pepper, clove, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Light oxidation present in the taste as well, but not bad. Very nice balance of malt and hop flavors; with good malt/spiciness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Light carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy and slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this a very good imperial wheat beer, even with the age. Good balance of malt, hop, and spicy flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering. ration (2238) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAR 16, 2013
