3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Growler from Central Liquors. Hints of citrus in the aroma, but not much going on other than that. Slight carbonation on the pours, syrup-like palate as I’ve seen in other double IPAs. Nice malty sweetness, not as hoppy as I expected based on other reviews. Something funky in the aftertaste, a tad more malty than I like in double/imperial IPAs, something lacking in the hop presence though the overall bitterness is there. All in all I like ST’s 2X IPA better.
From Feb 2008
I got this bottle ina trade with joe1510. Thanks Joe!
This one pours from 22oz bottle a clear gold with about an inch of foam and stays around for the entire session. Very good, albeit small, head retention.(with lacing ;^)
The smell I noticed as soon as I popped the cap...big caramel malt with a nice side order of hoppy goodness and a very nice fresh baked bread. I hope the malt is as impressive in the taste. ;^)
The taste on first sip and yep, that yummy caramel malt and bread is in the taste in big abundance and I'm smiling like a cheshire cat. Then the hops make a presence with nice notes of pine and some citrus but I'll be danged if I don't consider this one a malt dominated DIPA and, that works *very* well for me. The body is somewhere bewtween full and medium, the carbonation is on the light side, and it finishes with a slight bitterness mixed with some more bread and the alcohol? A pretty strong "beast" at 11% but I can't sense any in the nose or taste and it gives me the slightest of warming after the swallow. I really like this stuff!!
Bottom line: After I pretty much finished with the text in my review, I took a peak at some other reviews and most of them seem to say that the hops in Unearthly have a bigger presence than the malt. I respectfully, disagree. Either way, this is one of the best of the style that I've tasted ever. Worth sekking out? You darn tootin! zaclogan (19) - - OCT 8, 2017
Un*earthly is just that, an Un*earthly explosion of hops aroma and taste that will blow you away. Perfectly balanced malt backbone to boot. For anyone who hasn't tried this one you should do so right now. fooj (63) - Maryland, USA - JUL 29, 2017
I hate that I am forced to write a comment, when all I want to do is rate the beer for my own reference. What happened to not having to integrate with ratebeer.com?

Pours a copper color with some yeast at the bottom making it cloudy. the head is a nice white that lasts. the aroma is strong fruit, apples cider, red berries, grapefruit, small citrus. almost like berry blast from V8. the flavor is almost identical to the smell, the flavors are sweet fruit up front followed by grapefruit, citrus, ending in some earthyness. very well balanced and multi-levels of flavor. Would recommend! the body is medium and bitterness is throughout with out being too much. Evolutionary (542) - Ohio, USA - DEC 17, 2016
Bottle from andersons. Nose is dank hop. Surpringly smooth for type and darker sugar balances the hop domination. Not very complex overall. Alcohol hides behind hop bitterness and the bitterness lasts a long time. Would prob look elsewhere especially given the hopslam like price.

Bottle from New York - Clear copper color, smll head. Taste is intense aromas of fruits, grapefruit, mango. Downturn: Slight notes of vanilla-perfume. Body is strong malty, but crisp and easy to drink. Alcohol well hidden. Heavy dry and bitter finish. A good IIPA. Quick3Beers (1516) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 18, 2016
Pours a copper/amber from a bottle. Aroma of caramel and marmalade, flavor similar, extremely sweet with an alcohol bite. Thick in the mouth, kind of over the top. Maybe it would taste better in a few months. Okay beer.
Good IPA. Abv totally masked by pineapple and anise taste. Chewy mouthfeel. Tasty stuff for sure. MrTipple (7004) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 17, 2016
Intense floral hops, bitter, overripe tropical fruits, sweet, citrus fruits, orange. Hazy, pale god, small, creamy, white head. Medium bitter. Resinous sweet continue, pine, overripe tropical fruits, yet dominated by floral hops, grass, soft carbonation, full bodied. Very decent IIPA, lack the tropical fruits, but compensates well with floral hops. Bottle from Discount Liquor, Milwaukee.
