black with a tan head; roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate and pumpkin; a smooth stout; fairly pronounced pumpkin flavor, but the pumpkin is nicely balanced with th echocolaty, roasted malt and coffee notes; I have always been a staunch believer that pumpkin should absolutely never be used in the brewing process - this is the beer that has proved me wrong scottw86 (1177) - Maryland, USA - AUG 22, 2014
Poured black with a large tan head. Aroma has lots of nutty notes with pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Taste has lots of spices with dry pumpkin and chocolate. A bit creamy with an eggnog type finish. Very good overall, it has a good amount of pumpkin flavor, but maybe a little too much spice. bigda83 (854) - Jamestown, New York, USA - AUG 21, 2014
Poured a nice deep black color with very little head. Aroma of pumpkin, dough, and spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Taste follows the nose exactly. This was my first time trying this. I still prefer Pumking to Warlock, but this was very good. Perfect for when the weather turns colder and fall hits. Body was pretty full and I don’t think I could have drank two of these. kmccrea (19) - Stow, Ohio, USA - AUG 20, 2014
Sweet pumpkin aroma, dark black appearance. Tastes of pumpkin and spice. Mouthfeel is kinda chalky. Definitely a desert beer.

Pours a dark brown with a smaller bubbly light tan head. Aroma of...you got it. Pumpkin pie, with the crust included. Would be interesting to have this side by side with Pumpking. If my eyes were closed and I smelled this I would think it’s Pumpking. Honestly don’t get much imperial stout of it at all. Flavor of yup...Pumpking. Maybe some slight roast and some more toasted caramel notes than Pumpking. But it’s not what I was hoping for. Wishing it was a big ole imperial stout with a touch of some pumpkin pie spices. Instead it’s a Brown Pumpking. Was going to say abv well hidden for an imperial stout. But noticed it’s 8.5% so already on the low end for the style.

Really good. The pumpkin gives a nice compliment to the stout. The aroma is really pleasing. Pretty good offering. bth122 (1567) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 16, 2014
Draft at HoTB. Aroma of bascically pumpkin pie. Taste is really spicy with maybe cinnimon nutmeg, and pepper. Pumpkin pie crust. Medium body. Creamy texture. Good. I like pumpking a little better. jsmerig (1590) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 16, 2014
Aroma of cracked pepper mixed with nutmeg butter and pumkin. Taste is decadent. Smooth and creamy sweet and pumpkin pie. Desert beer at its finest.

Dark brown color, light brown head. Very spice and chocolate forward. Some toasted pumpkin. But something just didn’t sit right with me. It was flabby and seemed to get worse as it warmed. bigrond (1499) - factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 15, 2014
This is fall in a bottle. A darker more sinister twist on Pumking. Very good, the palate is all over the board with dozens of subtle flavors creepy in as it warms. A very good fall beer.
