Bottled. Deep black with a nice, frothy beige head. Very strong coffee aroma and flavour, fairly full bodied and with a distictly alcoholic aftertaste. A tad rough feeling, but in a good way; sorta rustic :) Octopussy (50) - Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - MAR 26, 2002
An otherwise good stout spoiled by an overwhelming foul chemical taste, possibly preservative. Will try another to see if I had a bad batch. Screech99 (34) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 6, 2001
Great stuff, up there with Coopers in the stout stakes, geez SA makes some good stout. mike8499 (22) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 14, 2002
Being from england i was astounded to find a stout like this so far from the mother country. without a shade of doubt the best stout in Australia. jxo (9) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - SEP 8, 2008 does not count
Bottle. Sweet malty aroma. Very dark with thick light tan head. Pleaseing and not overpowering malty flavour that is slightly roasty. Subtle fruity notes.

Black stout, tan head with great lacing. Coffee aroma with a hint of dark rum.Thick substantial body, with mild astringency and a pleasingly dry palate. Dark and roasted malt flavours, with notes of coffee, dried fruit, licorice and whiskey. Sweetness not overpowering, and helps hide the alcohol content. filthy6 (2) - AUSTRALIA - MAY 16, 2007 does not count
Pours a very dark black with a quickly disappearing head. Aroma was a rich a strong, creamy molasses. Flavour was malt heavy with a smoky aftertaste. Really enjoyed this beer.
