Bottled- - Very dark head, heavy coffee aroma. Very bitter and strong burnt malty flavors coming through, becoming stronger and more refined as the beer warmed, with a chocolate taste noticeable. A contender for my favorite stout. Must be consumed at close to room temperature to enjoy the full flavour of the beer. Great beer, highly recommended.

Bottle. Almost black with small head.Nice roasted and malty with a touch of coffee. Also a bit sweet and a bit bitter. Thylacine (526) - Tasmania, AUSTRALIA - APR 7, 2008
Opaque black with a dark tan head. Full bodied with medium carbonation. Rich dark roast malts with a bit of molasses, smoke, coffee and black chocolate and with a long lasting moderately bitter finish. A great stout! Choos (754) - Taylors Hill, AUSTRALIA - NOV 29, 2003
Wow. I didn't get much aroma from this except alcohol to begin with but agree with another poster it does have cocoa powder there as well. The flavours and mouth feel are unbelievable! My first sip I would have sworn it was cut with a rich desert wine but then quickly gives way to roasted barley & bitter chocolate flavours. Pleasently bitter with a hint of metal. Though well carbonated this still has great mouthfeel. harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - FEB 23, 2004
This was a very nice dry stout. Lots of dark chocolate flavors, with some nice espresso coffee roastedness. A nice full mouthfeel, that is sticky and chewy. Very drinkable.

Deep black with a creamy brown head that was short but lasting. Aroma consisted of chocolate liqueur, roasted almonds, some sweet molasses and some alcohol. Fairly full bodied, as you’d expect, but it contains the alcohol quite well. The 750ml bottle went down quite easily, but it would probably have been best to share it! A pity it isn’t more widely available. jkm (235) - AUSTRALIA - APR 7, 2008
Opaque black colour with a fairly large tan head. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Roasted malts, coffee flavours. Moderate bitterness in the long finish. - 375ml bottle. TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - DEC 24, 2008
Bottle. A lively pour, black with a huge thick creamy head. A brown head that laced very well. Roasted malt aroma with chocolate and coffee. Deliciously dry and roasty on the palate, strong coffee flavours in the malt, as well as some vinuous qualities.
