on tap at the brewery at the bottom of vimperk square. surprisingly drinkable for the style - hazy lemonadey colour, pleasant aroma of ginger that suggested apple and cinnamon; well-balanced, some tartness from the ginger and just a little heat 3fourths (9349) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 12, 2011
draft at Pivovarksy Klub. wonderfully soft yeast, ginger and spice nose with ample baked cracker pilsner malt chracter and zingy / spicy bitterness and acid, some combination of the actual ginger and the hops used. frothy with sharp carbonation and lingering fresh ginger and cracker malt late. quite delicious. both myself and my friend agreed this beer was in top shape. (100cl plastic bottle) Hazy, pale golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Mildly sweet and buttery malty aroma with shy notes of citrus and ginger spice. Moderately sweet flavour, just light to medium body according to the high abv; calm on carbon. Shy buttery malty and subtle fruity taste with delicate but also present spicy touch of ginger; sweet, shy bitter and spicy finish. 09.11.11 pivnizub (10662) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - NOV 24, 2011
Lahev (Obchod s Quack-Duckem!): Hazy, golden to deep golden, visible carbonation, fruity-lemony nose (presumably "zazvor", as the label tells), pale malt and shy hops underneath; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, almost medium bodied; soft hoppy and fruity-malty finish. O.K., but not really necessary. Replace the ginger better by more good bohemian hops...... Quack-Duck (9485) - Down South, GERMANY - NOV 13, 2011
1l bottle from the brewery. Hazy yellow colour, large white head, quite persistent. Spicy aroma of ginger and hops. Light- tomedium-bodied, solid malty base with goood hop flavours and a nice touch of ginger. Not fiery, not in the foreground, but doing its job in a very pleasant way in the background. Well balanced and convincing - I liked it.
