Vom Faß im Brauhaus in Spandau. - Dunkles Orangegelb, sehr trüb. - Nase hefig mit etwas „grünen“, unreifen Hopfennoten. - Im Antrunk dominiert die Hefe, gefolgt von mildem, frisch zitronigem Hopfen. Zart karamellige Malzsüße. Mild rezent, schlank, sehr süffig. Mild grasiger, schwach hopfenherber Abgang mit kühlender Minze. Wenig bitterer aber etwas grün und unrund wirkender Nachtrunk. - Angenehmerer Vertreter der Gattung Gasthausbrauereien-Bier, etwas hefig-unausgereift wie die meisten, aber süffig und erfrischend. Mir fehlt bei solchen Bieren der kernig-gerstige Charakter, den nur gut abgelagerte und ausgereifte Biere haben.

Draught at 18. Internationales Berliner Bierfestival. Hazy yellow/golden beer with a small offwhite head. Malty caramel flavor, hay, bready, citrus, grassy, cereal notes, dark bread, some cream and hay. Malty fruity flavor, caramel, cereal, spicy hops, grassy, oranges, some biscuits.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours cloudy yellow with airy white head. Clear aroma of yeast, with notes of hops and malt. Rough, estery flavour, with bitter, hoppy notes. Faint touches of malt. Heavy, dry, rough aftertaste. Not bad!

BlackHaddock (7690) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - FEB 10, 2014
My first beer of the three at the Brauhaus during a visit on a very cold early evening on 19th Jan 2014. Murky orange body, the full head hung around for most of the drink. Grassy, citrusy and bready notes in the aroma, some yeast hints as well. The taste was fruitier but with the aforementioned grassy, citrus and bread smells also noticeable in the flavours within the mouth. Full bodied for a Helles and also fairly full of flavour. Not bad at all, my wife liked this the most of the on-tap beers we tried in the place.

Knallig orange, trüb mit viel Schaum. Hefig-fruchtiges Aroma nach grünem Apfel. Startet malzbetont und geht in eine trockene, aromatische Hopfenherbe über. Süffiges Zechbier aus Spandau, wah!

Hazy golden, small white head. Aroma is grassy. taste is fresh made bread, grass. Bitter finish. probably the best keller I had in my life after Mahr’s U. By the way, I bet in a blind taste one will hardly get the differences between these two beers.

Tap @ Brewpub. Pours hazy yellow with a small creamy head. Lemon and citrus. A bit of bread and grass. Smooth, hoppy and dry. Great!

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2012 23052012, RB rating nr.500. Draught @ Brauhaus Spandau. Pours amber dark orange, unfiltered, head is foamy and lacing, long lascting. Arom is citrus, hops, fruitiness. Palate is slick, mouthful, carbonation soft with crispy mouthfeel. Taste is malty, hoppy and litte dry. Finish is medium hoppy aromatic. Balanced in simplicity , drinkability and house brewery flavours. Good session beer.

[tap at Brauhaus Spandau as Havelbrau Hell] Opaque peach colour, large white head. Some wheat sweetness, but also lemon, like a mild sweet lemonade. Very smooth and mild on the palate, good mouthfeel. Highly drinkable, not much evidence of alcohol on the flavour. Unfined, but little yeast profile on the flavour other than a slight marzipan edge to the finish. Really very nice indeed, had three of these interspersed with the schwartzbier [19042012]

On tap at Hell oder Dunkel as ’Naturbier Hell’. Hazy golden with a rocky, creamy bright white head and lace. Pleasanlty malty and spritzy nose. Lots of crisp carbonation, lightly malty taste with some mild yeasty-fresh bread at the finish. Just a touch of citrus and maybe a little mint. Low bitterness, low sweet fruitiness, med-full body. Too much for sessioning but like it well enough.
