This poured an amber color with a white head. Aroma contains citrus, caramel, wet cardboard. Flavor is kind of yeasty, caramel, oranges. Aftertaste is somewhat bitter. Overall it sucks. ben4321 (6504) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 31, 2013

Aroma: The nose is heavy malty, with lots of caramel, pale malts, and some grapefruit hops
Appearance: It pours a reddish-orange color with a lasting beige head and some medium lace
Flavor: This one has a medium-plus sweet flavor, heavy caramel, and a light-medium hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it is kind of sticky, has an average carbonation, and a mid-dry finish
For me, this was not a particularly good example of an IPA. The hops are a bit lacking here and the sweet caramel malts are a little too present. It isn’t terrible as a beer, but as an IPA, it misses the mark.
Bomber poured a hazy amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness and light grapefruit zest. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, grapefruit zest and a hint of pine with a smooth dry lightly bitter lingering earthy finish. Stevesie (336) - - JAN 27, 2013
Was hesitant about getting this as five dollar bombers are like 50 cent avocados--tempting, but often disappointing. Not really encouraged by this being from Chug’s private stash. I can imagine the profile. Name: Chug. Favorite Style: Yes. Preferred Drinkware: Funnel. As far as the actual beer...pours a nice dark copper with very little head and similar lacing. Fairly active carbonation with some clinging bubbles. Nose is very malty with some roasted grains. Flavor, while not bad, is more malt than hops. Finish is clean. Overall, not a bad IPA--particularly for the price, though I would have relaxed the malt a bit and increased the hops. bhensonb (15191) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 24, 2013
Bomber from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours darkish hazy orange amber with a creamy beige head. Aroma is light pitted fruit with roasty malt. Med body. Flavor is light pitted fruit, roasty malt, and something floral/herbal. It’s dryer than not, quite hoppy, and decently bitter - but not a NW type.

22 oz bottle served in a snifter.
Pours hazy amber with a tan head of modest size and durability. No "big bite" from this IPA which has been tamed by a good load of caramel and other malts. Still plenty of flavor and a moderate bitterness, with herbal and spicy hops dominating the flavor. The aroma is rather tame and sweet for style, but has some complexity and fruitiness plus a nice nutty aspect.
O: A decent IPA, especially for the price. The relatively high ABV is well hidden. Brouwerij (959) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 23, 2012
Pours a hazy orange with a finger of light tan head. Decent retention and some lacing. Aroma is malty, hoppy, nutty, hay. Flavor is hoppy up front, fading into strong malt notes, nutty, caramel. Slight fruit tones, peach, apple. Bitterness that lingers. Medium carbonation, light body, and a smooth mouthfeel. Could be hoppier, but a solid IPA, and for $3 (on sale) it was a steal. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting.
Body is medium amber.
Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (caramel), lightly hoppy (apricot), with a note of butter.
Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium to full body, velvety/syrupy texture, lively/soft carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
IPA??? In whose opinion, I wonder. This is a syrupy sweet malt bomb...both in the nose and mouth. Rarely if ever do I criticize an American IPA for not having enough hops (the thought is practically laughable), but it’s very much the case here. Better attenuation would help a lot too. As it is it’s just too goopy and unrelentingly sweet to enjoy.
Pours a hazy amber with a sudsy off white head. Aromas of pine, some citrus, and earthy hops. The flavor is packed with caramel malts and a grapefruit bite backed by moderately bitter but thin finish. Has a cloying alcohol taste on the tongue as well long after its down. Something isn’t quite right with this one, not horrible but also not something I particularly enjoyed either.
