Bomber. Pours copper gold with a lasting head. Aroma is dominated by hops as expected. Nice balanced flavor with aggressive hoppiness that does not overwhelm the palate. Finishes bitter but not unpleasant. Overall a nice example of the style. Would pair well with spicy curry or chili. Cybercat (6017) - Georgia, USA - OCT 7, 2011
Aroma is hoppy with a fruity overtone that includes orange and apple, and hints of malt and yeast. It pours a beautiful clear coppery amber with a fairly thick pale amber head that leaves some respectable lacing. Flavor has hoppy, malty, fruity and woody notes, and it is slightly sweet and minimally bitter. Smooth, firm-bodied texture has a decent fizz and leaves a nice hoppy and malty tingle behind. Appearance: Lightly hazed, dusty copper-hued body with a large-sized, sudsy, off-white head. A few sticky specks of lace on the descent.
Smell: Grated spices with a woodsy edge to it and snippets of fresh citrus peel atop moderately toasted bread and biscuit tops and slathered in sweet-scented butterscotch cream.
Taste: Sweet caramel, a little bit sugary, with plenty of toasted bread and biscuits. Hoppy tastes of Ruby Red grapefruit juice, tangelo, and zesty spices. Moderate bitterness. A little bit of diacetyl lurking in there. Bittersweet, fruity finish, fairly smooth.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: It’s got some boldness, but, overall, it is fairly balanced, which the hopheads won’t like that. It’s also got a bit of buttery diacetyl, not glaringly so, but some won’t like that, either. Me, I thought it was alright. Perhaps I’m off my rocker, but it strikes me as a poor man’s misfired homage to DFH 90 Min.
Pours clear red-orange with 1 finger of head. Candied, roasty aromas on the nose. Nice body, medium hop balanced with roasty malts. I find this beer very tasty, but it’s balanced and not too bitter--hop-heads would probably take offense. wnewberr (100) - Huntersville, North Carolina, USA - MAY 28, 2012
22 oz bomber. Good beer but notice some buttery off flavors and aromas (I think). Nice hop profile with a toastey finish. Wondering if this guy has a big brother...

Poured into a pint glass from a 22oz bomber. No freshness date.
Pours a slightly hazy medium copper with a thick 1.5 finger head. Excellent head retention and lacing.
I’m not really picking up much of a smell at all. Some caramel and roasted malt along with a little bit of earthy hops.
The taste is really quite malty with a lot more malt than hops. Lots of caramel and toffee along with a bit of roast. The hops are definitely on the earthy side with a little bit of pine thrown in. Some bread makes another appearance towards the finish. Moderate bitterness along with a fairly full mouthfeel.
As an American IPA, this really doesn’t cut it. However I do believe it is a fairly decent English IPA. The maltiness along with the downplayed, earthy hops are definitely English. Overall a tasty brew I’m glad I tried.

22oz bomber pours up copper with slight haze and quarter inch tan head. The modest aroma offers up some earthy and spicy hops with notes of pine hops and eucalyptus leaves in the background. The taste has bitter spicy and pine hop notes rimmed with a bit of rough booze and a dash of citrus like sweet hard candy. It seems to want to be a bold and rough IIPA but lacks the depth and richness to get there. Underneath all the resiny hops is a note of two of sweet dark fruity esters. Bottle. Pours with a big ol’ foamy head, quite rocky and frothy. The aroma is quite woody, hinting at bark and earth. This does drink with a dirty aspect, gritty even. The hops are quite mashy, giving off a wet-sodden appeal. Filling beer. (#5276, 10/5/2013) thunderhops (224) - Vermont, USA - JUL 31, 2012
