Draught at CM Bockfest. Bright gold w/ nice white head...honey, malt, straw, grain aroma...moderately interesting. Full bodied and sweet. nice malt, with more honey and some light fruitiness...not finding the hops...seems a bit underattenuated to me...or just unbalanced sweet...grainy...works out to be a pretty good beer for sitting in a beer garden on a sunny day. Draught. Pours a deep gold with a thin white head and some lacing. Pleasant honey malt and honey aroma. Nice malt with an earthy and herbal hop bite for balance in the finish. Very drinkable beer. ChazyRPh (583) - Chazy, New York, USA - AUG 21, 2005
on draft at Eli Cannons - Clear golend pour with a medium fizzy white head. Negligable aroma, malty...malty...malty. Heavy caramel malts. with a hint of hops. Sweet. Nothing to give this any identity. JCapriotti (1379) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 28, 2005
From JPDIPSO’s tap. Clear gold/amber. Thin soapy white head. Aroma has perfumey oats. Stale grain w/ perfumey hop taste. Pretty good beer.

Pours a clear, lightly sparkling golden with a lightly-lacing white head. Aroma is earthy and somewhat musty with some sweet caramely maltiness. Body starts rich and sweet with good German lager yeastiness and a nice noble hoppy bitter balance. Many thanks to JPDIPSO for sharing this from his keg!

Pale malt aroma with spicey hops. Better flavor: more sweet pale malt but with lightly spicy red-fruited grassy hops. An excellent mailbock! Thanks for John for sharing a growler of this. StewardofGondor (1933) - Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 13, 2005
Clear gold in color with white creamy edges. Aroma is caramel and pepper and a hint at dry, unsweetened chocolate. Overall, fairly muted aroma. Flavor is smooth and encompassing. Vanilla creaminess and a little oak. Some background caramel accents and a dash of pepper. Dry, clean and a little bit of hop bitterness. Solid maibock - not too sweet and not too bland. Thanks to JPDIPSO for sharing this rarity. hezron (614) - Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 12, 2005
Brought to the tasting by JPDIPSO from one of his kegs. Clear golden color with a thin head. Light aroma, couldn’t pick up much except some bready malt with a hint of pepper? Flavor was simple, but good. A nice sweet malt with some fruity overtones. Thanks to JPDIPSO for bringing and sharing. MIBRomeo (2579) - Wisconsin, USA - JUN 12, 2005
from John brought to share hand bottled. Dougy yeasty aroma light fruits but weak overall w/ an odd hop or malt that put something in the scent I couldn’t place. Pours golden in color w/ a small white head an nice carb bubbles. Palate is rich feels thicker than it looks and coats well. Flavor is odd for a maibock lightly sweet some fruits like pears warming in the swallow lightyly malty. Good beer a bit different but good. 1FastSTi (3358) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 11, 2005
Brought by JPDIPSO from the keg he has in his basement. Pours to a 24k golden colored body with a thin, barely existent white head. The aroma is malty and sweet. Bready and grassy. The flavor is very floral and has a sweet malt backbone.
