This beer is our speciality. In 1894 Spaten became the first brewery in Munich to produce this brand of light lager. Golden in color with a well-balanced hop-flavor. The full rounded body is a superb balance between hops and a malty sweetness.

Choos (754) - Taylors Hill, AUSTRALIA - JUN 16, 2005
Aroma: pilsener like aroma with a little peppery and honey notes. Appearance: clear pale golden yellow foamy head with no lacing. Flavour: lighlty sweet almost melony fruit. Palate: thin with some lingering bitterness.

DrBeer (862) - Solna Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 14, 2005
Yellow with white head. Malty with notes of forest, hay, rubber and muesli. Malty flavor with notes of vegetables. Dry with decent bitterness. Sweet.

SuIIy (1984) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - JUN 10, 2005
Bottle. Pale gold with white head. Smells of sour mash and toilet water. Watery, bitter, wet cardboard taste

JoshuaB (476) - Detroit, Michigan, USA - JUN 9, 2005
Nice golden color with a decent amount of frothy white head. Aroma if of bread and maybe some foot funk. Tastes like malt with some sweetness, finish is bitter yeast. Mouthfeel is carbonated. Nothing really special here.

MoritzF (10095) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - JUN 8, 2005
(bottle) Golden colour with a big frothy white head. My first impression after having filled my glass was a stench of pure urine but fortunately it turned into a smell of sweet malts, cookies and some grassy hops. Moderate sweet flavour, medium body. Malty taste with hints of honey and a smooth but bland hoppy finish with a slight bitterness.

ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 4, 2005
Golden, small dissaåearing white head. Mild hoppy aroma, hints of bread and vegetables. Soft malty flavour with mild grassy undertones. Rather bland finish.

It has a meduim body with a wonderfully smooth after taste. This is a good diner beer

RAYBOY01 (2010) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 28, 2005
Decent beer in the Helles style, more or less. Nothing remarkable. Weak appearance and pour. Mild hoppy aroma and flavor. Much better choices abound.

beaconstreet (811) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 28, 2005
Had this at a sidewalk biergarten outside the main university in Munich. Its just okay. Better were the conversations I was overhearing, remarkably one in English.

Ughsmash (7510) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 25, 2005
Tap. Poured a golden yellow with a healthy 1+" creamy head that stayed rather well. Aroma contained some hops and musty wheat. Crisp clean mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Flavor had some sweet malts in it, and the finish had some moderate hops and some dry grass or wheat.
