COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Ingredients: Water, Barley Malt, Hops & Hop extract.
Sold as Münchner Hell in Germany, München in the UK and Premium in North America.
This beer is our speciality. In 1894 Spaten became the first brewery in Munich to produce this brand of light lager. Golden in color with a well-balanced hop-flavor. The full rounded body is a superb balance between hops and a malty sweetness.

12 oz bottle into a Samuel Smith pint glass. A: Pours a crystal clear golden straw color. I love how translucent the body is, in particular. The head is a two finger white shade; retention isn’t the best, but there’s some really nice lacing left on the glass. S: Aye, it’s a bit skunked (lol, green bottles), but it could have been worse. The notes of pale malts, faint sweetness, and zesty hops aren’t dulled in any significant capacity. T: At first, some of the hop profile comes through with notes of grass and lemon zest, but the finish is pure, balanced, simple malt goodness. In particular, it has a nutty flavor that I really enjoy (that, and the diacetyl is kept in check). Personally, I want more hops; but I won’t complain about the balance this offers. M: Not quite as bone dry as I like my lagers to be - nor is it too sweet. The texture does the best it can to provide good drinkability without significant hoppiness. O: Green bottles mean I wouldn’t buy this one again. However, I would seek it out on tap. An under-appreciated lager unfortunately scorned both by its bottle color and by who makes it.

Not a bad premium lager. Green lager skunked. German pale Malt corn chip. Pretty refreshing at least.

Butelka 0,5 l. Wypita 02.11.2017. Aromat mocno kukurydziany, warzywny. W smaku akcenty miodu. Goryczka umiarkowana.

Легкий аромат солода. Самый обычный вкус обычного среднего лагера. Совсем легкий привкус хмеля. Послевкусие довольно мягкое даже для лагера. В целом ничего выразительного. Надеялся кстати на большее.

500 ml bottle. Pours clear golden with a low white head. Aroma of slight barley malt, grain, with a hint of butter, and a very slight oxidation, and an unfortunate hint of acetaldehyde (i.e. fresh green apple aroma). Taste is slightly dry, with a medium to low bitterness. Flavors of smooth barley malt, grain, old-school German hops. Medium body, crisp texture, medium carbonation. Simple, yet pretty tasty — in terms of a straightforward German helles.

This tastes a lot like honey. Very nice if you are in the right situation. Enjoy with some bbq food I reckon. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of wet malt with minimal oxidation and fresh straw note also acetaldehyde in the back. Clear golden in the glass with medium head. Taste is semi dry with notes of grain straw, malty base and minimal hoppy finish. Beer is crispy and refreshing with very clear profile. Tastes better than smells, good.

Tasted on 16.08.17. Small head disappearing to durable layer. Clear light golden colour. Pleasant grainy aroma with some hops. Grainy maltiness in taste with quite noticeable hoppy bitterness.
