This beer is our speciality. In 1894 Spaten became the first brewery in Munich to produce this brand of light lager. Golden in color with a well-balanced hop-flavor. The full rounded body is a superb balance between hops and a malty sweetness.

Bottle. Pale yellow color with a fine white head. Aroma of yeast and hops. Medium carbonated. Dry bitter and short finish.

50 cL botle (Original Munich Beer, Spain). Pours clear and golden yellow with a lacing white head. Somewhat hoppy nose, a bit skunky. Flavour starts soft malty with a little sweetness - and gains some bitterness before the finish. Malty flavour return far into the finish as a pleasant malt dryness - not the classic bone dry bitterhops.

Ungstrup (37284) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAY 8, 2003
A yellow beer with a fine head. The aroma is primarily hoppy but also malty - a very fresh nose. The flavor is sweet containing brewmash notes and a nice aroma hop. Very much like a good czech beer - very nice soft pilsener.

joergen (27983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 21, 2007
Draft. Clear yellow coloured with a white head. Aroma of malts, grain and fruits. Flavour of malts, grain, fruits and hops.

oh6gdx (26482) - Vasa, FINLAND - MAR 25, 2005
Bottled. Yellow colour, mediumsized white head. Not much aroma, mainly hops with some grassy notes. Hoppy flavour along with malt. Late hoppy bitter aftertaste. Mouthdrying.

(Bottle 50 cl) Comes as "Spaten Münchner Hell". Very pale golden with a small head. Light-bodied with a sweet, malty character and only a weak bitterness. Quite a sympathetic beer. 051200

omhper (24969) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAR 15, 2007
Bottled (as Spaten Munchen). Clear golden, brief creamy head. Malt aroma with some butter and paper. Sweet and medium bodied, solidly malty. Creamy malt followed by a lightly salty finish. Pretty good standard helles with a very light industrial touch to it.

8th March 2014
Bright clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is smooth with fine minerally carbonation. Smooth malt, touch of cream and a little slightly war wheaty malt. Very light orange citrus, whisper of honey. Smooth and semi dry finish. Pretty drinkable.

Leighton (21083) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 16, 2014
Draft at Spatenhaus an der Oper - Munich. Pours perfectly clear gold with a creamy white head. Cereal and biscuits in the aroma. Light sweet flavor, simple, with more cereal and biscuits, faint hay bitterness, light floral notes. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with more cereal. Basic but supremely drinkable.

fiulijn (20411) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 25, 2003
