COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Amber in color. This medium bodied beer has achieved its impeccable taste by balancing the roasted malt flavor with the perfect amount of hops. Having a rich textured palate with an underlying sweetness true to tradition.

This is my favorite of the Spaten line, but I really don't think much of any of the Spaten products I've had yet. This beer was a little too bitter for my tastes.

(2Apr2003--500ml bottle) One of Spaten's top offerings. Kind of ugly to look at, with a big, but thin, styrofoam-like head; lumpy with uneven lacing. Medium copper in color. Aroma equally disappointing, kind of like apple cider, or a mix of acetaldehyde, hops, and malt sugar. Once it hits the tongue, however, it's pretty enjoyable. Fairly dry. Unspectacular flavor, but certainly without major fault. Nicely airy and well-carbonated for such a sizeable beer. Fantastic mouthfeel. Lightly chalky/astringent, lightly sour, medium/low bitterness. In summary, it's a great Oktoberfest.

Very rich, creamy mouthfeel. The aroma was malty sweet. The flavor was on the sweet side with a distinct hops bitterness in the finish. Light feeling beer but extremely satisfying.

Beautiful thick foamy white head. Very dense, thick sheets of lace. Crystal clear orange/amber body with lots of carbonation. Dry barley and toastey caramel malts. Some earthy tones stand out of the nuttiness. Very clean palate, mildly effervescent. Sweet and a bit dry on the finish.

Bottle. Dark golden color with a white head. A toasted malt aroma and flavor with a dark malty aftertaste.

Medium amber color with a small head. Smooth over the tongue and down the throat. Quite pleased with this one.

Awsome color. Good smelling beer. Very good taste and good amount of alcohol. Good overall beer.

Not a bad beer. Very straight forward. Nice amber color and it has a small white head. Has a slight sweet aroma. Has a malty flavor and you can taste the hops. It also has quite a bit of carbonation. Over all this is a decent beer that is very refreshing.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2004 Aroma of corn, sugar, wheat. Very harsh on the mouth, with burnt corn and spices. Mild and thin flavor, a bit watery and a bit skunky.

Reminds me of a Vienna with an off bitter taste. Not unpleasant but not something I will go back to.
