Attended Oktoberfest at Old World in Huntington Beach last Friday. A couple pitchers of this stuff, a big ol' slab of Wienerschnitzel, and some fine polka music can really put you in the mood. Sweet, bready aroma. Sweet, roasted, caramel, malty flavor with a hint of coffee and spicyness.
12oz bottle pours a clear amber with a large off-white head. Aroma of grassy dry hops over light caramel malt with lager yeast. Taste of mildly sweet toffee and caramel malt, lightly nutty, with mild lager yeast and hops on the finish. Livendadream (249) - New Mexico, USA - NOV 1, 2017
UPDATED: NOV 1, 2017 Btl pours a clear light bronze color with big white head that fades fast leaving specks of lace on glass. Aromas of sweet bread and burnt sugar with floral and perfume notes. Tastes of toffee, toast, roasted grain and spice. Light to medium body, good carbonation, soft mouthfeel and a smooth dry finish. Clean ,crisp hops pair perfectly with the malty backbone. Nice smooth, easy drinking beer. nohopspleez (77) - Georgia, USA - OCT 30, 2017
A good German beer, but not great. Why? Because this is an Octoberfest, which by definition is to have malt - not hops - as the predominant taste. Not bad, but the hops is VERY noticed.
Thanks for this great site to review beers and not sing praises to the pine cones, nutmeg and other garbage shoved into overhopped bottles of USA craftie junk. smaynard6000 (1242) - Apopka, Florida, USA - OCT 28, 2017

I bought this bottle at the Alcampo in Sevilla. I tried it today during the meal in the cerro del aguila, Sevilla. In my point of view, it is a honest beer, pure tradition of Bavaria, 100% classical, making its job. The body is gold and clear, thin and white foam, regular carbonation. The taste is malty, bready, a bit
watery, not a lot of hop, well balanced, simple and drinkable with notes of honey at the final. monkeychugg55 (1109) - Joliet, Illinois, USA - OCT 11, 2017
Golden copper with a small white head. The aroma is quite a bit skunky, with some light caramel and toasted notes. The flavor is similar, with some moderate sweetness and some balancing bitterness, pretty skunky though. felsenpils (183) - Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 7, 2017
12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear, light amber with an off-white head. The aroma is of sweet malt. The taste is well balanced with some of the dark malt flavor coming through as well as a bit of caramel sweetness in the aftertaste. The hop bitterness is restrained, but there is a noticeable alcohol note as it is approaching 6% ABV and almost a Bock beer. This is an excellent example of the Märzen/Oktoberfest style. It is truly a shame that they no longer serve it at the Munich Oktoberfest where all of the breweries have decided to pour the cheaper Helles Lager style in its place. axl (1081) - Lund, SWEDEN - OCT 1, 2017
500ml bottle. Clear, very pale golden with quickly fading white head. Aroma is very light with white bread, herbal hops, grainy malts and light grass. Taste is herbal hops, white bread, grass, lemon and hay. Medium mouthfeel, light carbonation and herbal aftertaste. ghostbeer (248) - Nebraska, USA - OCT 1, 2017
Pours a nice amber. The aroma on this is great, full and decadent. In terms of taste, though, it was only okay. I only bought this as I was told that this is the best Oktoberfest hands down. Meh.
