COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the German version of the beer, described by Jackson in the 2000 Pocket Beer Book as "much paler (than Oktoberfest-Marzen in the US), golden, albeit still with a creamy aroma and pleasant malt accent."

50 cl bottle from Systembolaget. It has a quite weak aroma unfortunately. Some malt tones, but that's it. Good, "thick" mouth-feel. Rich. Very malty - nice! Banana and vanilla in the flavor. Some sweet licorice in there as well. Quite good finish, stays with you for a while. "Satisfying" is a good word for describing this one.

A decent beer, bit more intense than the classic Hell. From the bottle it is good, easy to drink enjoyable, but it lacks the fascination it has when being served omn the occasion of Oktoberfest

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 4B). Bottle 50 cl - Batch unknown (BBF 10.07.2018). AROMA: medium malty-sweet with a doughy honey-like quality. medium-low to low herbal-like note. clean lager profile. APPEARANCE: pale gold color and cristal clear. medium white head with average retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with medium malt flavor with a sweet and honey-like impression. medium-low bitterness with a malty balance. finishes semi-dry. PALATE: medium body and smooth, medium carbonation. OVERALL: na average festbier a bit on the pils side.

Hey. To my surprise I found this bottle at a very attractive prize at a random supermarket in Minsk. Crystal clear bright golden coloured brew with a 1 finger porous white head. Very dissapointing aroma and taste as well. Very basic pale lager stuff. Corn and grain later additional standart hoppy aftertaste. Good levels of carbonation. Short finish. This beer obviously lacks some depths. I expected to enjoy this one, but it came out as a tick for me. Bummer.

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2017 08-09-2017; bottle; at home (bought at Saveur Bière, as part of their September discovery box). The looks of the beer are nice. It looks like a Oktoberfest beer should be like. The color of the beer is a nice golden yellow and it is crystal clear. On top of the beer a nice layer of rough white foam is formed. Foam retention isn't great, but it is appropriate for this beer. A very small drape is left after a while. Not bad, it looks like a proper thirst quencher. The smell of the beer is nice. It has a nice malty touch. The malts give nice sweets to the smell, with a slight biscuity touch. I also smell a touch of alcohol. Besides the remarkably nice malts, there is also a nice refreshing happiness and a nice bitterness. Lovely. Good smelling beer. The taste of the beer is also nice. At first there is a nice sweet maltiness, with a slightly bitter toasty edge. Very nice. Besides this there are a lot of refreshing hops. They give some fresh acidity, but also nice bitter touches. There are very nice, and form a good balance to the sweet malts. Lovely beer, I like it. There is a nice creamy touch from the yeast. This completes it. The palate of the beer is nice. There is a nice light body, a smooth and slightly creamy texture and a nice high carbonation. The finish of the beer is nice. It has some lovely bitter hops, together with some nice sweet malts. So all in all, a lovely beer. I'm ready for Oktoberfest.
