COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the German version of the beer, described by Jackson in the 2000 Pocket Beer Book as "much paler (than Oktoberfest-Marzen in the US), golden, albeit still with a creamy aroma and pleasant malt accent."

0.5L bottle. Clear golden yellow colour with a small white head which didn’t last long. Aroma: grainy malts. Taste: grainy malts, hint of grassy hops, light sweetness, low bitterness to finish. Light, with moderate carbonation, a somewhat smooth but watery texture, otherwise quite like a lager. Not the best Oktoberfest beer that’s for sure but it’s a bit better than your average macro lager at least, and very easily drinkable.

Pours golden straw like color with tan head. Flavor and aroma are very similar and onedimensional: strong malt backbone, which takes on toast, bread, some caramels or toffee, with some floral hop notes....Body is light to medium, texture soft, carbonation is medium.

0.5 l bottle from Alko Hakaniemi, Helsinki. Apperance is very pale and clear. Looks like Helles. Tastes like that too despite the high ABV. Herbal hops, not malty as Pilseners. Very refreshing but at the same time heavy stuff. Nicely balanced.

0.5 l bottle from local ’Trink & Spare’, best before July 2017. Clear, pale golden yellow with a medium large, very dense, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, quite grassy-spicy aroma of fresh grass, some citrus and a bit of grains. Sweetish, a bit malty, quite grassy-spicy taste of fresh grass, grains, some citrus and hints of butter, followed by a short, quite grassy-spicy, moderately bitter finish. Almost medium-bodied, smooth and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Quite nice actually, easily drinkable and refreshing with a decent dose of spicy hops.

Slight maltiness in taste. No corn aroma detectable. Pale clear yellow in colour. Considerably more palatable than the Paulaner Oktoberfestbier I just tried.

Clear, really pale yellow colour with a quickly dissipating thick white head. Weak, malty aroma, slightly bready. Somewhat mild, bitter taste, dryish finish. A bit sweet. Very soft mouthfeel, creamy but low carbonation. It’s not bad but I didn’t enjoy it that much either.
