I love Oktoberfest/Marzen beers and this is a wonderful example. It is copper-amber with a huge off-white head that lasts a long time and leaves good lace. The aroma is caramelly malty grain, cooked rice, dry grass, hints of pine and herb. The taste is caramlyl malty grain, strong and full but still light and tingly in feel, with an active palate, clear herbal and nutty bitterness, more bitter than usual for the style and just enough to make it more interesting. This is simply wonderful KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - FEB 12, 2005
One of the best examples of Oktoberfestbier out there. Don’t pass this one up- creamy, slightly sweet and bitter. Great brew. KaiserKolsch (38) - USA - OCT 3, 2007

One of my favorite beers of all time...If I find it state side I drink it like water...it is very smooth. Duhast500 (414) - Cumberland, Rhode Island, USA - AUG 21, 2009
Poured from the tap into a pint glass.
The color is a deep gold with a foamy white head. Some nice lacing.
The smell is a bit caramel, some wheat and malt flavors and a bit sugary.
The taste is of caramel and cinammon. There is also so bitter fruit flavors as well.
One of the better Oktoberfest beers, is very flavorful and has a nice feel to it. Drinkability is pretty smooth and goes down easy.

hay, dough, caramel, cooked vegetables, rotten eggs, amber, white foam, rocky head, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, flat, bitter, SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - SEP 27, 2004
On tap at the Spaten tent tonight. The place was ROCKIN’. I mean, these germans were singing American Mo-town tunes all night! Not what I expected in terms of entertainment, but the beer was outstanding! Yellow with a white head, monster head in a liter maas. Drunken girls mowing down massive amounts of the stuff. 3 Canadians and 4 Bavarians were at my table. By the end of the evening, we were all best friends. This might be the best beer to drink massive amounts of at Die Wiesen. Certainly the best tent tonightr for energy and fun. Thanks Bill for the free tix!!! flatkitty (10) - Norman, Oklahoma, USA - NOV 21, 2005
A wonderful Bavarian beer, and if you’re a fan of the Octoberfest style, this is a must-try. The aroma is very pleasent, and carries over into the test. Very rich, quite malty with a dry finish for such a perfumed beer. Better on tap than out of the bottle, as is any beer, but this one is worth trying if you ike the style. mvcramer (243) - Lexington, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 16, 2007
1L draft at Spaten’s 2007 Oktoberfest tent in Munich. Lighter golden color and less intense carbonation than other breweries’ Helles offerings that I had at Oktoberfest. Nonetheless, still a wonderful beer!! Bit lighter body and lighter malt body than I had expected – the same would be true of the hop complexity that I had expected. jwsandker (1) - - OCT 7, 2016 does not count
