Lots of good things about this beer, the malts are spot on. But I think the bitterness is too high, and bit off. The creaminess and mild blend of flavours are very good.

Restrained aroma in a dark brown pour. Laid back balance with a plum fruity body and just a hint of alcohol. bb (9268) - Alamo, California, USA - APR 17, 2015
Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Yeast and light spice aroma. Sweet malt and yeast flavor with light banana. Medium bodied. Sweet malt and yeast lingers. kespecial (252) - - DEC 20, 2014
Browns a brown orange with thin white head, little lacing. Nose is mostly caramel, Belgian yeast, a little vegetal. Tastes of more caramel, candi sugar, a little raisin. Some off notes. I would describe it as an Americanized dubbel. Not bad, but not the best from the brewery and certainly not for the style. mcberko (17823) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 1, 2014
On tap at BevX360, pours a dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted nuts and brown sugar. Flavour brings out some off-notes, lots of toasted nuts and some residual sugar. Finishes vegetally. Not good.

On tap @Toronado ,SF. Pours ruby red with a small off white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, nuts and year. Flavor is sweet and malty with some nuts, caramel, fruitiness and grains. Medium body, average carbonation. yngwie (17053) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 4, 2013
On tap at Toronado. A minimal sized off-white head sirs ooh to of an unclear reddish brown body. The aroma has an initial touch of raisins, with some caramel maltyness and generic fruityness blending in. The flavor is pretty much the same, with some bitterness balancing the sweetness. Full body, very soft on the palate. Dried fruits and sweetness in the finish. Nice indeed, although a bit less complex than the best Belgians. 130804
