Bottle. Pours a reddish amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty piney hoppy aroma with weak hints of caramel. Fruity malty weak hoppy piney caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy caramel finish. brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 20, 2010
A: The pour is a nice amber color with a tan head.
S: Quite a nice caramel malt backbone to the beer with a hint of bread and piney hops. Not much citrus, but a good balance of malt and hops.
T: The balance continues in the flavor. Again, a good sweet base with some hops and bready malt to prevent the beer from being overly sweet. A bit of piney and bitter hops on the finish.
M: The body is medium with a middle of the road level of carbonation.
D: A pretty nice beer. Not my favorite red ale, but good flavors and balance that I don’t find any major faults or problems with. bhensonb (15617) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 2, 2011
Bomber from the Folsom BevMo. Pours a fairly dark ruddy amber with a 3 finger frothy beige head. Sweet malt, perhaps even treacle, aroma with something like earth and resin. Full bodied. Flavor is more sweet than not in the beginning, but earthy, resin, citric hop comes out a bit to help cut that back. So it finishes a bit on the sweet side, but not very much. No heat in the mouth. Overall this is a rich, tasty ale. Smoooooth. Ratman197 (15216) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JAN 4, 2012

An ok strong ale - hops and malt compete for attention with the malt winning out. Spicy, earthy and sweet. Good body if not terribly smooth. DocLock (10970) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 12, 2015
Bomber from Whole Foods Plymouth. Pours turbid ruby/deep coppery with 1-finger, frothy, off-khaki head. Nose is intense barleywiney, with heavy caramel malt, molasses, hops, dark fruit. Tastes very citric, orange zesty, caramel malt dense, with a dense and complex mouthfeel. Like a hybrid 33/33/33 strong ale/barleywine/imperial red hybrid of sorts, this one is assertive, hefty, and not for lightweights. marcus (10573) - Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 18, 2011
On tap at River Rock, Sacramento. Pours reddish brown with a nice beige head and burnt toffee aroma. There is a rich amber malt flavor with a raspy dry finish. Great flavor. bb (9697) - Alamo, California, USA - JUN 30, 2011
Bottle. Ruby beer with a dark cream colored head. Grapefruit and summer fruit aroma. Malt and grapefruit flavor with pine, light toffee, and summer fruit. Medium bodied. Grapefruit and pine lingers with toffee and light summer fruit. JoeMcPhee (9517) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 9, 2011
Deep clear amber-tinted pour. The nose has a really bright pine aroma along with some lemon peel and a touch of grapefruit and citrus. Bright spicy rye malt character. Lingering pine and a long resiny hop bitterness. A bit of soft lingering fruitiness on the back. Lingering peppery booziness along with a kiss of light lean toffee. Man --- like Founder’s Red or Hop Rod on steroids.
