Cheers JoeMcPhee. Great aroma exploding from the bottle on the pour. wine gum, rich, hop, malt heaven. Mahogany cherry wood colour with a great frothy head and lace. Strong fruity malt flavour, hint of hop in the finish. Liquorish with a bitter finish. Oscbert (1313) - Lincoln, California, USA - JUN 20, 2014
~Strong aroma of wood, resinous hops, and sweet caramel. Makes my mouth water.
~Pours an amberish red color with lasting dense and thick yellowish white head.
~ Sweet malty flavor, but very well balanced with strong hop flavor. Caramel, chocolate, and bread for the malts. Woody, resinous, and earthy for the hops.
~Full bodied feel, with medium low CO2, lingering earthy hop finish.
~Yes sir, this is my cup of tea. I really like the Prohibition Ale and this seems to be just a more amped up version. Great way to end the day, DocLock (10721) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 12, 2015
Bomber from Whole Foods Plymouth. Pours turbid ruby/deep coppery with 1-finger, frothy, off-khaki head. Nose is intense barleywiney, with heavy caramel malt, molasses, hops, dark fruit. Tastes very citric, orange zesty, caramel malt dense, with a dense and complex mouthfeel. Like a hybrid 33/33/33 strong ale/barleywine/imperial red hybrid of sorts, this one is assertive, hefty, and not for lightweights. JoeMcPhee (9427) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 9, 2011
Deep clear amber-tinted pour. The nose has a really bright pine aroma along with some lemon peel and a touch of grapefruit and citrus. Bright spicy rye malt character. Lingering pine and a long resiny hop bitterness. A bit of soft lingering fruitiness on the back. Lingering peppery booziness along with a kiss of light lean toffee. Man --- like Founder’s Red or Hop Rod on steroids. bnoel09 (587) - Elk Grove, California, USA - NOV 19, 2011
Poured from a bomber into an English pint glass. Color is sort of a rusty reddish brown with a dense tan head that dies down but doesn’t disappear. Aroma is sweet and earthy (maybe a little brown sugar or toffee) with pine and citrusy hop notes. Flavor matches the aroma well starting off with a sweet, earthy maltiness and turning into a nice resinous hop bitterness towards the finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. No lightweight, but not as heavy as you might expect for the ABV. Overall a very nice imperial red / American strong ale.

Pours amber with a thick tan head. Hop, caramel, toffee, citrus, dark fruit and chocolate aroma. Resinous hop, caramel, toffee, chocolate, citrus, biscuit, bubblegum, plum and malt flavors. Medium full body and moderate carbonation. Slightly bitter and chocolate, caramel and resinous hop finish. TeamTrappist (832) - jericho, New York, USA - SEP 2, 2010
Poured a rich amber with a thin head. Malty abv nose with a bunch of hops. This is full bodied 3x ipa. It’s got a boat load of malt for balance but the hops really standout. Not flowery and piny but big with a mild bitter finish. vtafro (7445) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - JAN 7, 2011
Draft. Golden ruby pour with white head. Fresh pine and fruit hop tones, aroma and flavor are nice and hoppy, slight warming on the finish. glennmastrange (2880) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JUL 9, 2012
Bottle. Heavy malt aromas of light bread, roasted and caramel, light to moderate cooked orange for the hops, moderate dough for the yeast, with raisin, toffee, brown sugar and maple syrup in the background. Head is average size, fizzy, light tan with fair lacing and good legs and is moslty lasting. Color is murky mahogany. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, the finishes lightly sweet and acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a soft carbonation. A nice mix of powerful and smooth in this American Strong Ale. dreadnord (1012) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 8, 2013
Pours deep copper with a thick off white head. Nose is spicy like rye, pine, caramel, candied fruit and some bread. The taste is high sweet and medium high bitter. The texture is soft and creamy at first but fizzy the longer it sits on the pallet. The body is heavy with a long finish. Nice.
