UPDATED: APR 19, 2013 From Immy’s Tasting. Clear medium orange, good head. Floral and grapefruit aroma. Flavor was biscuit oriented malt and more grapefruit and floral notes. Nice. RERATE from Slutfest. Citrus aroma, nice. Rich caramel body, balancing hop bitterness. Random citrus, loads of lingering bitterness. Original rating was 7,4,7,3,16 - it went up some with this one. maniac (3800) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUL 22, 2006

Mine had relatively no head, but a beautiful amber color. Creamy, hoppy, smooth molassas. I like this one. Enjoyed it at Immy’s Tasting. Reid (2527) - Salem, Oregon, USA - JUL 22, 2006
12 oz screen printed bottle.
Nice looking IPA clear amber, with a nice thick frothy off white head.
Aroma very spicy hoppy, with a slight strange aroma of what can only be described as "barnyard"..odd.
Good strong bready,semi-bitter thick maltiness to start, then it thins out and the hops take OVER, more spruce like than citric.
Ok on the palate but it does start to become cloying..alcohol present but mostly hidden.
An OK DIPA..nothing like as good as Great Divide Hercules..but not bad. dwedin (249) - Happy Valley, Oregon, USA - JUL 12, 2006
Small creamy light head with good lacing. Lightly cloudy orange/amber color. Heavy molasses and toasted bread with some grassy pine hop aromas. Good balance for 9.5

Head disappears quickly. Piney fruity aroma. Light body with a little malt character hidden behind the hops. Lingering dry bitter finish.

On tap at Toronado. Pours a golden color with a large white head. Aroma was of fruity hops. Thin body and average hop character for a DIPA. Maybe this beer suffers from being tasted directly after the Marin White Knuckle... just not bold enough for a DIPA in my opinion, but still a good brew. jcwattsrugger (12418) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUL 8, 2006
12 oz bottle-pours a big creamy offwhite head with gold color. Aroma is citrus hops, lemon. Taste is citrus hops, slick, alcohol, bitter. 1FastSTi (3360) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 5, 2006
Bottle via Odeed. The beer pours to a transluscent gold body with visible carbonation and a very thick frothy/rocky/creamy white head. Nice lacing. The aroma is piney and grapefruity. Hoppy. The flavor is piney, bitter spruce, and caramel malts. Lingering bitter hoppiness. Tastes like sap/resin, but the palate is clean from the oily resins I would expect. Too piney/sprucey. Bitter. Medium bodied. Finishes clean. 9.5% is not detectable. Unfortunately pretty basic for a double IPA. 505 (271) - Echo Park, California, USA - JUL 3, 2006
Nice aroma, strong flowery, pine, citrus. Pours amber, flavor is pretty bitter, then some citrus, then alcoholic finish. Nice full body.
