"Odd barleywine, high octane in all aspects that really seemed to distract from some promising items. Super sweet caramel nose with prunes, oats and alcohol. Dark amber pour, sparkling body along with a filmy head and stringy lacing. Fairly hot, malty and sweet. Strong malt flavors, mostly caramel and dank fruits. The alcohol burn is slightly overbearing." zdk (1917) - New York, New York, USA - APR 2, 2010
Tap @ Rattle n Hum - a basic, uninspired barleywine. dark brown/red. Toasted toffee, creamy and candy sweet. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - MAR 22, 2010
Sweet sugary/hoppy nose. Some citrus/pine/floral notes + caramel toasty and some fruity malt notes. Well rounded aroma, very enjoyable. Another beautiful beer - copper, bright filtered, awesome head retention and awesome lace. Fuck yeah hoes. Full of fruity hops - grapefruit and citrus, floral notes - toasted malts, caramel, light iced tea, lots of lingering bitter hops. Smooth and well bodied with solid drinkability all things considered. Yes. halfonit (1412) - Fall River, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 20, 2010
Pours a slightly hazy deep amber color. Aroma is of sweeter malts, chocolate, dried fruit, slight vanilla, and lactic. Flavor is very sweet up front with the chocolate and a little coffee in the end. This is a good all around barley wine. TeamTrappist (832) - jericho, New York, USA - MAR 12, 2010
On tap. Speakeasy old godfather. Medium Brown pour. Thin white head. Light booze hop nose. Malty mouthful with a hop booze finish. Interesting and complex. Weird but good.

Pours a cloudy amber color with an off-white rim head. Good lacing. Powerful aroma of hops and caramel malts. Bitter hop taste with underlying sweetness of caramel malts. Decent, but not exceptional. Sammy (13013) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 19, 2010
UPDATED: FEB 21, 2010 On tap at the Rattle ’N’ Hum. Classic barleywine, unexceptional, with a little bourbon, a tad of chocolate, a tad sour. Dark colour with white head.Mouthfeel a tad above average. Malt complexity draws you in a bit, but taste does not quite live up to it.
Maybe better on cask. wxman (1865) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - DEC 29, 2009
Pours a somewhat pale amber color with a substantial off white head. Smoky soy sauce aroma. Sweet roasted malt, licorice, dark fruit and brandy taste. Hop bitterness shows up after the swallow. Quite good! Maverick34 (3393) - New York, USA - DEC 28, 2009
draft from ginger man nyc. darkish color, floral, taste was a bit of alcohol. not a huge fan of the style and this isn’t an easy one to love if you’re not.
