On tap. Rich robust Porter with a bitter bite. Roasty and toasty and tasty. Nice Porter. SteveOrz85 (257) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 31, 2015
Poured from bomber into tulip. Poured black with two finger tan head. Light lacing. Aroma is lightly malty. Taste is robust and is lightly sweet with a fairly smooth finish. Notes of toffee and roasted malts. Light to medium carbonation. Great tasting average porter at an affordable price. $5.50 for a bomber not a bad price in PA. thb (849) - Alberta, CANADA - FEB 27, 2015
Another black thing with thin light brown head. Gives off chocolate, burnt toast aromas. Taste starts very roasty - let it warm up a bit and the alcohol comes into the picture with a bit of heat. Finish is dry, bitter, and a little floral? Hop character in the end is unusual for the style - I like my porters a little richer than this one. The dryness of this is even approaching CDA territory. ikigai (83) - California, USA - FEB 26, 2015
2/25/15 from bomber. Slight chocolately aroma. Nice light coffee dark malt flavor. A little thin mouthfeel. Deceptively little alcohol taste.

Pours a dark black with minimal highlights, a thick khaki head and decent lacing. Aroma of dark roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, cocoa, mocha and a hint of Worcestershire. Taste is also heavy on the dark roasted malts with a bit of sweetness. Flavors of day old dark roast coffee, cocoa, mocha, molasses, oats, some ash and a smooth roasty bitterness. Finishes semi dry and roasty. Mouthfeel is semi creamy with a medium/full body and moderate/high carbonation. Nice flavorful Porter that shows off the dark specialty malts but has just enough sweetness to keep it from getting too dry and roasty.

Pours a solid black with a foamy brown head bad lacing. It has a great aroma of toast, coffee, and dark malt, with a flavor of toasty malt up front and a semisweet finish over a smooth body.

Geruch nach Johannisbeere und Himbeere. Wenig röstig. Geschmackk dann restsüß. beer-yum (1954) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 9, 2015
UPDATED: JAN 24, 2015 Restrained aroma and jet black colour. Huge body to start gives way to a light, almost delicate, finish. Definitely a US take on the style (but no foul in this case). AAEA (266) - California, USA - NOV 12, 2014
22 FL OZ ($3.99) pretty cool beer, taste is like smokey chocolate. Has a good head to it. pretty good beer, I enjoyed this one. Its sorta tuff so don’t start with this one. Bahumat (179) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 31, 2014
Aroma: 7/10. Ashy, hoppy, with a nice roast-burnt aroma to it.
Appearance: 4/5, pours black with a medium tan head that lingers a while.
Taste: 7/10. Sweet and ashy burnt roast malts, a gentle sourness to it that fades into a light tartness that balances out the ash.
Palate: 5/5. Smooth, silky, pleasantly astringent, with a light bitter finish that lasts. Leaves the tongue tingling and prickling long after.
Overall: 15/20. While nothing here particularly stands out, this is a porter with fantastic balance and harmony to it’s elements. Despite the relative low scoring to others in it’s family, I’d definitely buy this again. It’s not great, but it’s easy to enjoy.
