American hops provide a smooth distraction for Payback Porter’s robust strength, which is concealed within the shadows of dark imported malts.

Opaque dark brown body under a tall tan head. Spicy roast malt aroma. The flavor is slightly sweet with notes of chocolate, coffee and nutty caramel. I like that it isn’t overly sweet and not bitter. Smooth and rich.

I picked up this bottle at the Pibar Lausanne to take away with an interesting discount. I drank this big bottle at home, relax aftee the meal. In my point of view, it is a really tasteful and delicious and classical porter. When you pour the liquid, there is a solid black body, creamy white and brown foam, normal carbonation for the style. The taste is powerful in the mouth, roasted malt, coffee, hop, a discreet side of vanilla. The aromas are well structurated into the palate, similar than the fuller porter.

Pours almost black with a tan head. Aroma is full of roasty notes, coffee and cocoa above all. Taste is rich: liquorice, roasted malts and chocolate, rather sweet, a bit spicy and with a nice bitter end. Very drinkable, the eyed big bottle format is adequate despite the rather high ABV. Good definitely.

Black with a medium tan head, some lacing. Aroma of dark roasted malts, smoke and molasses. Very smooth and creamy to the palate, with strong roasted malts, smoke, leather, caramel, molasses, notes of coffee and chocolate. Hops are light, not much bitterness, the roasty malts are the 90% of it. Great ale.
