Pours muddy brown with a medium foamy tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, caramel, roasted almonds, slightly fruity and flowery. Taste is quite roasted and smoky for a red ale. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. R4N5H (1321) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 29, 2015
12oz bottle on 09-Oct-2015 poured into a long stemmed tulip glass. Deep red colour with an off white head. Medium body. Flavour of roasted malt, caramel, spicy rye and hops. Enjoyable. Nik925 (800) - USA - NOV 15, 2015
Harsh. Aroma is overly spicy. Malt sweetness is fighting, but losing. The rye is way too forward. It isn’t supporting but brutally the main thing going on. This kills all the other flavors and kills the score. shoulderbroken (4256) - Tokyo, JAPAN - OCT 29, 2015
Tap at Grub. Nice. Light hops, little bit jammy, but maybe the rye takes the sweetness off. Grainy instead. Bit of caramel. Finish is satisfyingly rye-ful. Nice.

DATE TASTED: August 22, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: Brew at the Zoo pint... OCCASION: drafting fantasy football in the rugged Tecmo-themed Northeast Premiere League--taking AP with pick #4... APPEARANCE: dark, mahogany red--almost blood-red when held to the light--with an off-white head that retains well; creamy lacing rises in fiery sun spirals... AROMA: as with most reds, a nice, toasted malt treats the nostrils, with the citric hops--mango, at first--giving way to the pepper, smoke and cheddar jack kick I am hoping is in the taste as well ... PALATE: creamy, textured, sessionably swift to the throat; a pint that isn?t long for this world... TASTE: a woody character pairs with toasted bread and sharp cheese; thick malts blanket pepper and licorice--a complexity of flavors rearing up from the glass...something of a muddle, with a burdensome prunish flavor bullying its way in the finish... but also challenges in a pleasant way... OVERALL: I have had nothing but great experiences with Speakeasy, and once more--thanks to brother Jer for his purchase--I find another offering with a bit different profile... no big citrus or bold attack, but rather a variety of subtly textured flavors that encourage sip upon sip... a good pub pint for food paring...

Santa Clara, Ca. - Santa Clara Liquors - 12 oz bottle. Dark, ruby red pour, sticky off-white head, nice film of lacing. Aroma has a hint of bubblegum, a hint of minty rye. Flavor has a brief hint of citrus bitterness, some light cherry fruitiness, a touch of rye mintiness. Thick enough mouthfeel. Padron4KM (811) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - MAY 29, 2015

Coca-Cola brown, thick, soapy, brown head. Nice retention, sticky lace.
Aroma is sour rye, nuts, toast. Flavor is peppery and slightly sweet.
Bottle. Slight spice and caramalt taste, with a hoppy punch and a "lagery" finish that doesn’t seem to match and seems a little sloppy. Not bad overall though. CacheManyHose (767) - HONG KONG - MAR 31, 2015
Deep clear ruby-cola, white-beige head with very fine carbonation, fizzy watery lacing. Smells of grassy herb, spiced malt, rye, plum. Taste is very bland - light spice, bread, both sweet and sour. Body is watery, slightly frothy. A little disappointing esp. in the taste. HKdIPA (850) - HONG KONG - MAR 31, 2015
Bottle from QClub at home. Very dark ruby brown pour with foamy tan head. Spicy rye and deep malty head. Taste is pretty bland - some muddled hops and deep malts. So so. Wouldn't get again.
