Brouwerij (959) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 2, 2013
UPDATED: NOV 4, 2013 Bottle. Pours clear dark red with coarse off-white head, no lace. Aroma is sweet, grain, mildly roasted malt. Flavor is sweet, mildly roasted malt, moderate nuttiness, not your typical rye beer. Moderate carbonation, light body, and mildly watery texture. A toasty rye ale.

I'm a rye fan. In fact the description is my style. But this just didn't deliver. Had 2 last night 1 tonight. Some sips I swear I detected a feint wet dog. Some average hops. Fell flat for me. No spice. Kind of thick and weak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle:   Deep amber, some dark copper hues, large frothy biege head, nice lacing.   Malty nose, slightly bready, a bit of Rye.   Similar tongue, a little earthy but not much.   Not all that bitter either.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Bready, slightly earthy finish.   Needs to be sweeter.

Pours a light amber and has a faint, malty aroma. Has some citrusy bitterness to it with a sweeter finish. Overall pretty bland and uninteresting.

Overall a decent beer. Pours an reddish color and leaves a decent head. Aroma has notes of citrus with a little sweetness. Taste has notes of hops with a little sweetness. Nothing overpowering, but pleasant. Would great on a hot day while having a BBQ.

Fatehunter (2614) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - JUN 8, 2013
Poured one finger of head on a clear, amber colored body. The aroma is red licorice, rye spice and lemon. The taste is moderate bitterness with a slight honey sweetness and finishes with a bold bitterness. Nice profile. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. An enjoyable red rye ale.

Bottle split at Tony’s House, thanks to James (jtclockwork) for trading this one, 19/05/13. Hazed reddish amber with a good sized light beige head. Nose is caramel malt forward, hops, light pine, biscuit. Taste comprises caramel malt, light citrus fruit, mineral notes, brown sugar, some hop presence, biscuit bite. Medium bodied with fine carbonation lending towards a dryish finish with some hop bitterness. Ok stuff.
