Bottle @ The BeerMongers... Poured dark black with moderate head. Campfire and smoked bacon notes were dominant on this one. Some malt, toasted grains, and caramel sweetness for depth. Dark chocolates and a mild bitterness. May come off astringent if you’re not into smoked beers. neepsntatties (1990) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 5, 2013
Bottle. Colour...black with a slight twinge of brown around fringe. Nose...redolently smoky though I can’t discern that its cherry wood, but it doesn’t matter, as it’s quite a treat on the nose. There’s also whiffs of cocoa powder and devils food cake. Palate...silky, smooth, smoky and seductive. The smoke maintains an obvious presence but does not overwhelm and allows itself to meld beautifully with the flavours of chocolate ganache, roasted almonds and sea salt. This is one of the finest smoked porters I’ve ever tasted! bb (9268) - Alamo, California, USA - MAR 12, 2013
Draft. Brown beer with a dark cream head. Bacon and smoke aroma with malt. Malt and light smoke flavor with light caramel. Medium bodied. Smoke and light caramel lingers with light malt. marcus (10231) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 25, 2013
On tap at Beer Revolution. Pours black with a thick tan head and a treacle aroma. There is a hearty smoked malt flavor, in fact a bit too much smoke, and a dry finish. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - FEB 23, 2013
On tap. Black with a fizzy tan head. Liquid smoke and roasted grain aroma with a hint of chocolate. Taste is sweet and suggestive of a honey BBQ sauce with a dark chocolate and roasted grain finish. Interesting.

On draft at the Speakeasy tap room. It pours black with a tan head. The aroma has smoky wood with some coffee, toast and dry cocoa. Nice. The flavor is burnt wood… very savory., dry roasted malt with some chocolate. Really a great smoked porter. On point.
