Slight haze to the golden color, sticky white head and very good lacing. Dusty dry aroma, and very full. Very malt forward, weighted in its fullness, some notes of citrus and alder. Transports me to summer. Hops cut through at the very end to finish very refreshing and very impressive. illidurit (2340) - San Francisco, California, USA - JAN 30, 2009
Pour: 12 oz bottle to pint glass. Hazy goldenrod orange with a modest off-white head. Some wet, wispy lacing.
Nose: Right off the bat I get walloped with that crystal malt iced tea aroma. Not a good start. Once I get past that I detect some slight underripe tangerine and a faint herbal character.
Mouth: This is really weak. Tastes like crystal malt and biscuits. Hardly any hoppiness. Maybe a whisper of grass and orange seeds. Bitterness is so feeble I barely even notice it. Mouthfeel is fine but I don’t get any joy out of drinking this beer. Bradrcr (806) - Renton, Washington, USA - JAN 20, 2009
10/23/08 On draught at the Pied Piper, Seattle, Wa. Aroma is slightly pnw hop forward, caramel sweet, with great balance. Appearance is clear gold with a medium maintained white head . Flavor is very well balanced and somewhat blended between floral & moderate bittering characteristics, but flora forward. Mouthfeel is medium/low bodied with a medium/high carb texture. Overall, simple in it’s presentation, but the balancing makes this above average. KimJohansen (10492) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - DEC 25, 2008
Cloudy deep golden wiht large white head. Spicy hops in the aroma with notes pine and awnd grape fruits. Somewhat hoppy flacour with citric and piney notes. Crafty07 (404) - Florence, Kentucky, USA - OCT 27, 2008
Poured from the 12oz bottle, this cloudy amber ale is well made with a proper balance of noticeable hops presence and good hop character.
The last several reviews complain of a lack of hops...not every American Pale Ale tastes like an IPA or double IPA...

12oz bottle via trade bonus from Sparky27. Thanks. Pours a hazy yellow with a small bright white head with fat bubbles and good retention. Impressive lacing. Aroma shows toasty grains, subtle hops, a graininess, cereal. A standard, recognizable Pale Ale aroma. Some more hops would be nice. Taste is very clean, light and smooth with a subtle finish of graininess. Lightly malty with pretty much no hop flavor and very low bitterness. A smooth drinking beer but I wish it packed a bit more of a punch. beerbuzzmontreal (3487) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 6, 2008
Cloudy golden pour with a thin white head. Aroma of citrusy hops. Flavor of citrusy hops with a bitter finish. The body is light with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Mostly unexciting. GuilTTy (733) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - OCT 4, 2008
Another Foodery find in Philly. Mildly hazy light copper pour under a thin dirty white head. Just a touch of lacing. Aroma of mild citrus but you really have to search for it. Classic West Coast pale ale flavor profile of citrus, light caramel, toffee and crisp hops. Clean and dry finish. Sleeper (91) - Washington, USA - AUG 14, 2008
Pours with one finger head which settles nicely. Smells malty with little hops. Tastes malty with just a little hop kick. I’m suprised it’s not hoppier... Almost a tea taste to it. Body is slightly heavy. SuzyGreenberg (1603) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 30, 2008
12 oz. bottle - pours clear gold with foamy white head; sweet citrus hop aromas; drinks on the rich side with lots of hops; decent body; soft texture and sweet malts mixed well with the hops; a very nice hopped pale ale
