(1178-080814)

A little short on aroma. However, a great looking beer with a delicious blend of date/ raisin and cinnamon resulting in a almost hazelnut flavor.

A deep amber brown, thick luscious beige head. Sweet malty, caramel, raisins in the aroma. The taste is tame after reading the label which had me expecting figs, dates, raisins & cinnamon.  The taste is a decent brown ale with very mild raisin/figs. After it warmed up the cinnamon came out a bit. OK but I was expecting more after reading the label.

Dark brown/amber pour with an average tan head that recedes quickly to a ring of lace. Lots of dried fruit, spice and roasted notes on the nose with an overlay of molasses. Really similar in flavour but leaning a little more towards gingerbread. There’s a little warmth to this that I’m not sure is pleasant and overall it feels like a Belgian brown that fed on the wrong yeast.

Not as brown as I was lead to believe, maybe brown is different in Morocco. More of a light rust smelling of caramel, basement, roast malts and nuts. It has a light sweetness about it, owing to a maple syrup flavour and toasted nuts. A medium body with relaxed carbonation and a nice tasty sipper.

On tap at Irene’s. Pours dark. Slight aroma of malt. Tastes of malt, molasses, allspice and cinnamon with a long bitter finish.

The colour came as a real surprise on this brew as it was more of a reddish brown. Aroma was of musty old basement, roasted malts, and nuts. Tasted nutty, with hints of caramel and a sweetness that was hard to put my finger on. Had a good medium body. Not a bad beer, but I was hoping for more.

Poured medium amber with a small off white head. Aroma of caramel malt, dark fruit and nuts. Medium body, flavour as the aroma. Not bad.
