Dark amber color; small head.It has a very light aroma. The mouthfeel is quite round, due to the residual sweetness; it has a good caramel flavor and a sweet wood touch, also enough bitterness; there may be something more, I can’t tell if it’s a spice or what. Bottle. Clear dark amber coloiur with a medium off white creamy head. Sweet malty aroma and taste with notes of fruits and a sweetish finish.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2006 33 cl bottle; as usual for Mortal’s, no indication of a bottling date or ’bbe’. Dark red with a light haze and a minimal caramel coloured head. Nose of raisins, herbs and light chocolate notes. Taste of dark malts, light burnt, dried dark fruit like figs or dates, fructose. Light burnt bitter aftertaste. Not able to judge colour/nose, served from stone jugs. Herbal, grassy, spicey nose. Unobtrusive, but decisive spice. God - and JPie - knows which. Dry, but not bone-dry, a bit fruity flavour. Light, slightly slick texture. Great, but light beer. What’s that spice? Something for flavouring preserved fruit?
