50 cl Bottle purchased at (Swedish) government owned
Light yellow color and a white head. Malty scent and taste, an ok lager for clenching your thirst, but nothing I’d drink for good taste.
Bottled. Pale golden colour, mediumsized creamy head. Hayish, a bit skunky malty hoppy aroma. Sticky hayish alcoholic flavour, a bit like it’s getting old (BBE 01/06). Hayish dry but kind of sweet aftertaste. Quite watery, except for aftertaste. Not a winner. TBone (18347) - Pori, FINLAND - DEC 11, 2005

Pale yellow, olden decent white creamy head. A bit woody, malty aroma, not much hops here. Starts quite malty, but watery. Good hopping comes only in the aftertaste.
Pale brown-yellow. Delicate white head. sayravai (4711) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 6, 2005
Hoppy aroma with notes of herbs, wet forest and rocks.
Hoppy flavor with notes of peas. Some sweetness from the malt and low bitterness. One of the best cheap lagers.
(Bottled, 5.1% ABV) Paleish golden color with a medium, fading, yet a bit lacy head. Sweetish, very buttery, fruity aroma with hints of toffee. Sweet and malty, toffeeish flavor with some hops evident, but hardly any finish. Quite refreshing, light to medium-bodied palate. A decent, refreshing and quite clean lager.

UPDATED: JUN 29, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Golden, head is pretty much absent. Malty with a discreet sweetness and ditto bitterness. Good if not exactly breathtaking lager. 090205 Ingevara (910) - SWEDEN - MAR 31, 2005
Strong head that doesn’t last. A true pilsnery flavor, with a dry appealing aroma. VEry refreshing. bark (255) - Linköping, SWEDEN - FEB 25, 2005
Bottle. The colour is pale yellow; the thin white foam is made of big bubbles. Ungstrup (38585) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - DEC 14, 2004
The weak smell is kind of sweet with a hint of dust.
The carbonation is medium with refreshing small bubbles.
The taste is somewhat sweet and soft; the body is rather mild with some anonymous malt. It develops into a slightly bitter aftertaste. The aftertaste is a bit dry-bitter with some notes of white bread and a short, simple bitterness.
Yet another unexciting pale lager…
A note about the name: “Grängesbergs Bryggerier” was renamed to “Spendrups Bryggerier” in 1983, when the Spendrups family bought the brewery. This is a beer in the Swedish retro-trend, started by Spendrups a few years back with the unexpected success of “Mariestads”.
A golden beer with a small white disappearing head. The aroma is sweet malty with good notes of aroma hops. The flavor is sweet malty with good notes of aroma hops and a dry bitter end. madsberg (11776) - Søborg, DENMARK - AUG 4, 2004
Bottled: Golden coloured. Clear. Thin white head. Malt, hops and fruit in the aroma. Is sweet and artificial and has a light metallic flaovur. Thin body and aftertaste.
