Bottle, at home.
Redbrown with a small head. Aroma moderate malty and hoppy (caramel). Flavor moderate sweet and light bitter. Light to medium body, soft carbonated. Not that much Christmas in this beer either! Geiserich (4660) - Linz, AUSTRIA - OCT 31, 2005

Malty aroma, pronounced malt roastiness. Light brown, thick head. Chestnut brown color. Flavor is malty, few sweet with roasted malt notes. Light caramel and dark chocolate flavor. Dry, light to medium bitter finish.
UPDATED: JUN 28, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Dark brown beer with a tall, thick, brownish head. Pronounced maltiness (probably from loads of münchener) adding a sweetness well-balanced by the hops. Very, very classsical Swedish christmas beer. 180703 rickgordon (3878) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 12, 2004
Dark ruby brown. Caramelly nose, with tones of anise. Flavour is, just like the 3,5 version, quite nice and tasty with notes of salmiak(ammonium chloride). Long flavour.

(Bottled) Clear, dark amber color with medium, tanned head. Dry and slightly burned-malty aroma with rye bread and cookies. Malty, ashy flavor with some dark-toffeeish caramel. Even some licorice notes when warmer. Quickly fading, smooth finish. Very easily drinkable. Medium-bodied, slightly sugary and carbonated palate. Not that bad for the style, and probably accompanies a christmas dinner just fine. Clearly better than the Finnish vienna-style bulk christmas brews. mullet (849) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - NOV 28, 2004
An Ikea-bought present from my Swedish housemates. Looks like Coke with head (decent head retention). Toasty, caramel, chocolate aroma. Loads of thick crystal malt flavour without being overly sweet. A bit earthy even. Quite nice. bark (255) - Linköping, SWEDEN - NOV 27, 2004
Bottle. The foam is beige, compact and finger thick. The colour is dark ruby.fly (1487) - austin, Tejas, Texas, USA - MAY 25, 2004
The smell is quite mild, malty and somewhat sweet sour with some notes of crisp bread.
The carbonation is quite strong with small bubbles as it should be in a Swedish Christmas lager.
The taste is malty with some sweet notes. The slowly growing bitterness got some burned and fruity notes. The finishing taste is gentle and dry.
This is a quite discreet dark lager. On the other hand, if a beer should be able to accomplish the Swedish yuletide smorgasbord with its smoked, salt, sweet, sour and peppery tastes, it might not be too robust.
Was excited when I got this as a present, but when I poured it out it looked more like a cola than a beer. While it didn’t taste like a cola, it wasn’t much better. Strange tin-like quality and other off flavors masking anything good under it all. grefwen (7) - Jämjö, SWEDEN - JAN 14, 2004 does not count
I'm not fond of christmasbrews, and this was no exception. It doesn't taste very much, and gave an overall boring impression. I'm not saying that it should be avoided at all cost, but I wouldn't be sorry if the store was all out of it when I came to make my purchase.
